They seemingly don't se a need for it---.

War fighting priorities are changing rapidly as we have witnessed very recently plus the Russia - Ukraine war. In the 1st Gulf war we got a glimpse of the use of missile technology "shock and awe". Closer to home Pakistan needs to invest heavily in all types of missiles - land sea and air. IMHO AirForces will play a key and decisive role in any short or long conflict.

Is it possible to make a heli based awacs?

This is a common role. But it is mainly used on naval platforms.
Due to the limitation of helicopter platform, the capability of this AWACS is limited.
Now, the dedicated AWACS helicopter will be gradually phased out. Its development direction will turn to two routes:
1. Multifunctional integration. AWACS helicopters will gradually integrate with anti-submarine helicopters, multifunctional helicopters, etc. into a whole.
2. UAV-type AWACS will gradually replace many of its functions.

KA-31

The KA-31 is a Soviet-era helicopter early warning aircraft. It is used on Soviet/Russian aircraft carriers. India's aircraft carriers also use it.
China also initially purchased the Russian KA-31 as a shipboard AWACS on the Liaoning aircraft carrier (China reportedly purchased 9x KA-31 AWACS). However, the KA-31 is relatively backward in technology, has poor performance, and cannot be integrated into the command system of the PLA Navy's aircraft carriers. Later, China used relevant experience and the Z-18 helicopter platform to successfully develop the Z-18J AWACS. Currently, China's aircraft carriers and LHDs are equipped with the Z-18J AWACS.

These Attack helicopters are primarily to deal with the Western Front, A UCAV can't replace the firepower and ability to loiter and provide air support that the attack helis provide, if we integrate domestic munitions like burq on to them they can be very cost effective too.

Helicopter are good for terrorists with AKs only….

No NOC from USA. Turkey working on indigenous engine. Will take some time

I think China has turned to the research of WZ21(WZ20Upgraded version), which is a heavy armed helicopter.It means that he has enough space to carry more functions, such as UAV command system.

With that much integration, Pakistani-Chinese militaries are becoming an extension of one another.

China's helicopter gunships are moving toward anti-drone platforms and drone command centers.

The first is the development of rockets and high-precision laser weapons with some guidance capability, which, in conjunction with the helicopter's electronic equipment and AI-assisted systems, are capable of effectively combating the swarming tactics of drones.

Second, the helicopter can be used as a terminal of the war system, using a data chain to command a large number of drones to carry out reconnaissance, electronic warfare and precision strike missions.

yes.Helicopters are the best nemesis of drones. They have better advantages over high-altitude AWACS aircraft. The helicopter can fly at low altitude and, if necessary, hover in the air. You don't have to walk according to the terrain on the ground, it's perfect with a drone command system and an anti-drone system.

Right now it looks like helicopters are the most appropriate weapon to use against drones.

But it's hard for most countries to get the appropriate technology. Most likely the only two players in this track are again China and the US.

China made a wise choice not to develop heavy helicopter gunships, and the WZ-10 is the right platform for that.

Then what are the other options left for Pakistan to fulfill its current emergency requirement to equip its army aviation dept .with a more sophisticated gunship equalent or least somewhere near to APACHY,A BEAST IN THE AIR.

Ukrianians have shown that gunships and even airforce will be useless due to air defense

Air defense short, medium especially multilayered

Supersonic and hypersonic missles
Rapidly Mobile rocket(HIMARS)and artellery (SELF PROPELLED)

Situational awareness like AWECs, ECM and integration

are what matters
