I think you overestimate everything as is the penchant on the Indian side generally.
156->310 in an age where $5K kamikaze drones are taking out attack helis sounds like 90s planning still prevailing.

Attack helicopters aren't getting obsolete, their roles might be changing but they are here to stay, especially with NLoS systems. Even Pak army seems to have bought 40 Z-10s for a reason. And that point was regarding the author's ignorant claims saying Z-10 will be some wunderwaffe while India will have nothing for all that.

On the AD issue, the less said the better.

Not at all, Indian AD grid is much better and is getting a lot denser in coming future.

If Pakistan does go for a heavier attack helicopter it may consider the Turkish option to have access to both eastern and western

But there is a point there though, in fighter aircrafts it makes sense. The weaponry is so vast, etc. Same for Radars and AD systems. But for Heli's, instead of spending money on 2 suppliers, why not just talk to Chinese and get Z-10ME's assembly line built here with TOT (doesn't need to be 100%, even 60-40 like we had at the beginning of JF-17 would work). Heli's compared to airforce jets, have limited use. For their use, if the weapons package works and matches latest specs on say AH-1Z or near Apache, why not make it cost effective, go with one supplier, build an assembly unit internally and produce like 80 of them? With time, produce a commercial chassis also for local police, air ambulance, etc, conversion?

The case makes more sense because China has moved forward from this heli. They are building heavier Apache class combat heli's. This medium tier combat heli has become a second tier for them. So it would be an easier discussion for TOT / license assembly and expansion to a civilian version. Just my thoughts on practicality.

First of all z10me is not light but a medium helicopter. It has way more punch and carried more weaponry than cobra.

Zulu cobra is not light weight as well.

I mean if you look at the photo there is a panel that's missing around the engine. My guess is that this probably just got delivered and they're doing some testing before retrofitting everything back
