The official definition of the SLC-2E radar developed by China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) 14th Institute is anti artillery radar. This radar is the latest version of the SLC-2 anti artillery radar, which has already achieved good sales in foreign trade. The biggest change is that the antenna adopts a gallium nitride S-band active phased array. It not only do artillery position reconnaissance and calibration, it can also detect airborne drones and aircraft. This type of radar represents the world's highest level.
The SLC-2E use Shaanxi Automobile's third-generation 6x6 high mobility military card chassis. The front and cockpit of the vehicle are protected by armor which is welded thick steel plates. The windshield and side windows are made of bulletproof glass, and the side windows also have shooting holes.
