During his visit to the Istanbul Shipyard, Admiral Tatlıoğlu received information about the ongoing repair and restoration activities of the Savarona. At the Design Project Office, he reviewed the design and roadmap of the TF-2000 destroyer, which is the third project of our indigenous and national ship design, the MILGEM family, following the corvette and frigate. Additionally, he examined the concept design of the fourth project, an aircraft carrier.

About the future destroyer
The TF-2000-class destroyer is a type of anti-air warfare guided-missile destroyer that is currently being developed by the Turkish Naval Institute. This class is designed to counter aerial threats and is equipped to perform various mission functions, including command, control, communications, reconnaissance, early warning, surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, and electronic warfare.

On December 5, 2007, the Defence Industry Executive Committee approved the construction of six ships in this class, with four being fixed orders and two as options. In January 2013, it was reported that Turkey planned to acquire a total of eight TF-2000 destroyers, a plan which was confirmed at the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) in 2021. The development of the TF-2000-class is intended to enhance the Turkish Navy's capabilities in anti-air warfare.

The TF-2000 destroyer is described as having a length of 149 meters, a width of 21.3 meters, a draft of 5.75 meters, a displacement of 8,300 tons, a speed exceeding 26 knots, and a CODOG propulsion system consisting of two gas turbines and alternatively diesel engines.

For armaments, the TF-2000 is expected to be equipped with 96 vertical launch system (VLS) cells which are divided into two sections, with 32 cells located at the bow behind the main gun and 64 cells at the midship. Comparing with earlier depictions, the design has matured significantly, showing an increase from 64 to 96 VLS cells.

The primary armament will include a 127mm gun , 25mm STOP guns by Aselsan in turrets, and a 35mm Gokdeniz close-in weapon system (CIWS) at the stern, complemented by a RAM launcher type LEVENT by Roketsan with a capacity of 21 missiles.

How many are expected?

I think Turkey will eventually have at least 8 to 10 of these. @Hakikat ve Hikmet
Currently, I'm listening to a video presentation from the experts. Update u later...

8 to 10 ? I think it will be economically not possible.
Another source ( @MMM-E ) say 4 units.
Even 4 units is a hard price for a country were so many people are hungry.
Less than 8 to 10 doesn't suit them. Going through all the procedure to induct just 4 doesn't make any sense at all. Especially when they have to Aircraft carriers in mind also. Those Aircraft Carriers would need 4 each for their protection.

Turkiye has over $1 trillion of GDP now
and Turkiye increased defense budget from $16 billion to $38 billion for 2024

Nobody is hungry in Turkiye , not even 3,5 million Syrian refugees
Turkiye spent $50 billion for 3,5 million Syrian refugees

that means 50 TF-2000 Destroyers
TF-2000 costs $1 billion per unit

India and China hosts billion of poor population and they still spent huge money for military projects .... please stop posting nonsense which create political clash and divert the topic

Turkiye plans to produce 4 + ( 3 optional ) TF-2000 Destroyers
Turkiye increased ISTIF class Frigate production from 4 to 8 units in 2023

232 m TCG ANADOLU Amphibious Assault Ship entered service
a few weeks ago Türkiye launched the 285m long Aircraft Carrier project

as like ISTIF class Frigate program , there will be an increase in production numbers of the TF-2000 project from 4 to 8 units to escort Carrier Strike Group in the next decade

At this stage, Turkey's priority is not to increase the number of TF-2000s. 4 TF-2000s are sufficient for us. We have two main and urgent priorities. 1- To be able to put KE + Anka-3 UCAV's + Kaan Fighter and Hisar/Siper systems into the inventory as soon as possible, and 2- To complete all types of military engine R&D projects and put them into mass production. Everything else will be supplied over time. Including Altay MBT and warships.

Without any plane on it....
Sorry but low speed and low load UAV can't replace jet.

I agree for frigates.
4 of these big ships is far than enough.
Better have 10 more medium frigates than 4 more of these cruiser like.

KAAN and ANKA 3 are on a very long and sharp road....

KIZILELMA is not low speed and low load UAV

KIZILELMA is an unmaned stealth Fighter Jet to carry 1.500 kg payload

KIZILELMA has same advanced characteristics as 5th-generation Fighters

-- High situational awareness with IRST , EOTS and AESA Radar
-- Stealth design featuring a low radar signature
-- Internal weapon bay for stealth flight capability
-- Smart fleet autonomy equipped with artificial intelligence
-- Air to Air Missiles , Guided Munitions , Cruise Missile

Length
RAFALE : 15.27 m
F-16 : 15.06 m
KIZILELMA : 14.70 m

and there will be twin engine variant which will bigger than F-16 and RAFALE

In the next 5 years, KIZILELMA will have amazing capabilities

and Turkiye can use unmanned stealth Fighter Jets KIZILELMA and ANKA-3/4 on Aircraft Carrier and TCG ANADOLU

btw 285 m Aircraft Carrier to carry navalized variant of KAAN .... nice photshop

Turkish Aircraft Carrier is long term project in the next 10+ years

Turkiye produce 8 ISTIF class Frigates
1709219611834.jpeg

4 TF-2000 Destroyers will be enough
if AS-3600 Frigate project can join the modernization program of the Turkish Navy

124 m AS-3600 Frigates can be enough to escort TCG ANADOLU and Aircraft Carrier

64 cells VLS for 128 x SAPAN and 32 SIPER SAMs .....
( total of 160 SAMs which are more firepower than 3x French HORIZON class Destroyers )

1709219338433.jpeg

Carrier Strike Group in 2035 .. possible senario
1 x Aircraft Carrier
2 x TF-2000 Destroyers
2 x AS-3600 Frigates
1 or 2 Type214TN class AIP Submarines

I've not seen any possibility to use Kizilelma or Anka 3 on carrier. SPecially a carrier without catapult.

No.
No classical sub in a carrier group.

A carrier group usually cruise at 15 to 20 knots, and reach 25+ kn to launch jets.

Only a SSN can follow that rythm.

AIP sub interest is to stay 3 weeks under the sea, but only at less than 5 knots.
A classical sub autonomy is more 1 week at the same speed.
Max speed of a classical or AIP sub (in the 20 to 25 knots maxi) is possible only a few hours (1 to 3) more or less.
