I call a BIG bullshit on that one because PMLN’s own sources revealed how military establishment was in direct talks with Shehbaz Sharif and even hand-picked members of his cabinet prior to 2018 elections. The original plan was thus always to install Shehbaz as PM by hook or crook, and the long chain of events which followed to date is an undeniable proof of that.
It started during general Mushraff time when he made announcement that Pakistan needs a 3rd way between Pmln and PPP, both parties come to power in turn. After retiring he then made his own party which failed, but the policy continued. Dr tahir ul qadri started his long march, criticised Pmln and its policies, called for law, independent institutions, to make Pakistan strong, then IK suddenly started similar movement. Establishment hated Nawaz Sharif, Raheel Sharif and Nawaz Sharif had fall out many times. No doubt establishment supported IK to power, IK himself claimed this is the first time establishment and government is on same page, IK praised Bajwa many times, it was true aswell. All until it went downhill and that is a long story.
