PAF F-16 | Discussions

When considering which aircraft are potentially viable for f-16 upgrades i believe we will have a split A/B and C/D upgrade for these fleets. Our current A/B fleet includes a majority of older early 80s aircraft by my count 45 such aircraft these aircraft have very limited upgrade potential due to airframe life limitations. I believe more likely is that we upgrade the 28 formerly embargoed A/B planes along with the 18 C/D models. Additionally i would like to ask wouldnt it be optimal if PAF will go for ozgur program to send only C/D planes for ozgur program since turkish experience lies only in upgradation of their c/d fleet whilst only the US has offered large scale upgrades for A/B airframes as with the taiwan upgrades
PAF F-16s can be divided in categories.

AM/BM
C/D
and ADF version.

Bringing ADF version on par with C/D or further upgraded could be a challenge.

It looks like the L3Harris “Viper Shield” EW upgrade has been cleared for export, per reports from the Dubai air show. Considering the F-16s use may become more limited in the PAF, priming the fleet for the A2G role and employing the latest EW and PGMs against the enemy SAM and C4ISR networks maybe the way to go to maximize the use of the fleet.

I haven't seen the L3Harris Pavellion this year.

Usually there are close to Lockheed Martin and RTX.

Will check it out once I get there.

With increased want from foreign Block C/D operators, it was only given that Viper Shield would be cleared for export. Viper Shield from L3 and IVEWS from Northrop Grumman both are competing products and there are tons of potential customers who would have choice to select either one for their V upgrades.
