Can ADF version be upgraded to V standard ?

@Quwa candidates Pakistan should consider for acquisition as EDA. The following document implies there are 26 Block 42 F-16s out there in the ANG, or at least there were when the document was prepared.

ANG Block 42 F-16s that got a major engine upgrade.

21 F-16 Block 42 from 132nd Air wing out if Iowa that were transferred to the NJ air national guard: 177th fighter wing, Atlantic City. 119th Fighter squadron. (This was the last US fighter squadron in Afghanistan, out of Bagram, so it would be interesting if it came back to the region to keep an eye on miscreants in the area).

The 157th fighter squadron (169th Fighter wing) out of South Carolina flys the Block 52. This squadron is soon to retire their Block 52s and be re-equipped with the F-35A. This is best time to try to get these Block 52s, and have them SLEPed in South Carolina, and upgraded with the V upgrade.

PAF has BLU-109, a bunker buster with delayed fuse FMU-143, which can penetrate hardened structures. This options stands for F-16 strikes in Afghanistan. I think there were around 500 in inventory to start with.

UAE Falcons will receive electronics upgrades that will put them close to Block 70s but they do differences in architecture,

so no C8 and D3 for pakistan? that also means no F-16 upgrades? but that ensures we are going to keep existing F-16 for next atleast 5-10 years that is why c5 sustainment support deal is done?

When considering which aircraft are potentially viable for f-16 upgrades i believe we will have a split A/B and C/D upgrade for these fleets. Our current A/B fleet includes a majority of older early 80s aircraft by my count 45 such aircraft these aircraft have very limited upgrade potential due to airframe life limitations. I believe more likely is that we upgrade the 28 formerly embargoed A/B planes along with the 18 C/D models. Additionally i would like to ask wouldnt it be optimal if PAF will go for ozgur program to send only C/D planes for ozgur program since turkish experience lies only in upgradation of their c/d fleet whilst only the US has offered large scale upgrades for A/B airframes as with the taiwan upgrades

relax.....PAF will make the right decision......delay in JF-17 BLKIII and J10CEs orders means they are conserving funds based on how positive USA sentiments are for F-16V upgrades.

IF PAF goes with it, they will definitely want maximum number of A/B models to be upgraded.....so perhaps 18+18 from the original 45 and then the 18 BLK 52......remaining ones will used as trainers or salvage spares.

The PAF is actively trying to get the Block-52s upgraded to the V standard. Whether it happens or not is another story, but AHQ hasn't abandoned the F-16.
