The Scholars of Evil and the Faith of the Worst The Religion of Akbar the Great and the Religion of the Afghan Taliban Kharijites...
Akbar's father, Humayun, had his rule seized by Sher Shah Suri, who drove him out to the present-day land of Afghanistan. In present-day Pakistan, Bahram Khan, a well-wisher of the Mughal emperor, helped Akbar—Humayun's son—during his difficult times and restored his power to him.
Akbar had drunk the water of Afghanistan, and once he came to power, Bahram Khan began to bother him. So, after some time, he removed Bahram Khan from his position and ordered him exiled under the pretext of performing Hajj—the same man he once called a benefactor. While en route to perform Hajj, near Gujarat, Bahram Khan was ultimately killed by an Afghan named Mubarak Lohani.
After Bahram Khan's murder, Akbar needed to stabilize his position among both Muslims and Hindus. To that end, through his court scholars, he introduced a new religion called Din-i Ilahi, in which he emphasized that the emperor himself, rather than revelation or Sharia, was the measure of right and wrong.
Now, if we look at the Afghan Taliban, Mullah Yaqub and Hibatullah were given support by Pakistan during their difficult times, but as soon as they came to power, they betrayed Pakistan. To consolidate their control, they began rewriting and teaching religion according to their own whims. They convinced people that Sharia and religion are whatever they interpret them to be.
Islam believes in the equality of women, yet they impose restrictions on women's rights and education. Islam opposes terrorism, sedition, and corruption on earth, yet they keep issuing fatwas in favor of it day after day. Islam commands respect even for the body of an enemy, yet these people desecrate corpses day after day. Islam prohibits unlawful wealth and deeds, yet their economy is built on hashish, heroin, and illicit work. Through every action and deed, they prove day by day that, like Akbar, they have deviated from Islam to form a new religion.
The following were the scholars of evil included in and supporters of Akbar's Din-i Ilahi:
Abu al-Fazl Allami, Akbar's advisor, architect of the theory of Din-i Ilahi, and its greatest proponent. Faizi, Abu al-Fazl's brother, philosopher and poet, propagator of religious liberalism. Sheikh Mubarak Nagauri, father of Abu al-Fazl and Faizi, the one who inclined Akbar toward religious freedom. The Iranian scholar Mir Fathullah Shirazi, Akbar's advisor, expert in philosophy and astrology, supporter of Din-i Ilahi. Mulla Ahmad Suri, scholar of Akbar's court, participant in the debates of Din-i Ilahi. Mulla Mubarak Nagauri (Sheikh Mubarak's second title), philosopher and one of the founders of Akbar's court religious system. Maulana Shamsuddin Qazi, participant in the discussions at the Ibadat Khana and supporter of Akbar's policies. Mulla Abdul Nabi, one of the scholars close to Akbar, initially a staunch opponent but later softened his stance. Qazi Nur al-Haq Dehlavi, court scholar of Akbar, initially drew close to Din-i Ilahi but later separated from it. In Akbar's court, the scholars of evil abandoned revelation, Sharia, and Sunnah to make the emperor the measure of right and wrong. The Afghan Taliban, too, declare themselves to be Islam itself.
Akbar and the Taliban—both turned religion into a tool of power.
Both exploited the scholars of evil.
Both declared dissent to be infidelity.
Both kept the public deprived of awareness.
Both deviated from Islam to form a new religion—a royal faith or a mercenary faith.
Remember, when power subjugates religion, and the scholars name that subjugation "Sharia," history warns us that this is the era of the scholars of evil.
