There might be some confusion, but if you're wondering, "Why does the Police have a T-129 attack helicopter?", let me explain.
Because Turkey has had problems with terrorists for many years, the Police Force has a special unit called the PÖH.
Unlike the Police, this PÖH unit, which we can even call SWAT units, is more heavily equipped than a regular police unit. And so, when this unit requests air support, the Police Force has been provided with three T-129 Phase 2 models so that the Police Force can provide it from within.
Police units focus on urban and residential areas.
The Gendarmerie focuses on rural areas and smaller settlements like villages.
Similarly, the Gendarmerie has been provided with T-129 attack helicopters to support its special units, such as the JÖH and JÖAK. The Gendarmerie has seven T-129 Phase 2 and six T-129 Phase 1 aircraft in its inventory. There are a total of 13 T-129s.
In short, the two units responsible for internal security were provided with vehicles like T-129s and UAVs to provide their own internal support.
