That’s like asking Pakistani military establishment why they supported Afghan Taliban in the past but now suddenly have a problem with the same.So Afridi was not appointed by Imran?

So that means Imran Khan’s EU-style "open border" policy isn’t very far fetched from reality like many pro-establishment people here claim. If something worked in the past and brought peace in the region (prior to war on terror), then it surely can work again. After all, these are the same Pashtun people / tribes on both sides of the border. From 1989 to 2001, there was nothing of note going on there. Yes, we had a refugee problem but there was no militancy on the borders. Within Afghanistan there was a power struggle with the various warlords etc. but the trade and transit was wide open. We had FC posts sparingly dotting the landscape (and the Army was not deployed in the FATA).
Technically that is part of the problem that the state created by continuing the British system for the area. From 1989 to 2001, there was nothing of note going on there. No - that is asking why you are making a statement that all he can do is tweet and yet he is able to change appointments and give directions. That’s like asking Pakistani military establishment why they supported Afghan Taliban in the past but now suddenly have a problem with the same.![]()

Both Benazir and Imran Khan studied in British universities. Pakistani generals were / are simply NO match to their intellectual capabilities. Hence why one of them was assassinated and the other is on his way to meet the same fate in prison…One has to give her credit to be the only PM(besides IK in certain aspects) who could intellectually leave the generals speechless.
Imran Khan is still the party chairman of PTI, so yeah he can change appointments during the little time he gets to meet with his relatives and lawyers in prison. But he is still not allowed to give any directions to Afridi, despite court orders, because military establishment in Pakistan is above the law.No - that is asking why you are making a statement that all he can do is tweet and yet he is able to change appointments and give directions.
Then please help me understand the lack of consistency in Pakistani military establishment’s "policies". Afghan Taliban used to be the good guys in the 90s until they weren’t during US war on terror. Then they were the good guys again when Western / India backed Ghani government collapsed as Afghan Taliban took over Kabul. Now, they are back to being the bad guys once more.Whataboutry
Deflection

It is workable if the other side accepts your side’s territorial integrityListen, even this "open border" concept is workable. Prior to the GWOT, our border with Afghanistan was wide open. An FC post every few hundred miles.
This is feasible if the murder mayhem of TTP is culled and no groups from Afghanistan enter Pakistan to destabilize.
Pakistan is not insecure about softening up borders. Our Pashtuns are secure and confident of their future with Pakistan. However, it's all the terrorism that is coming through Afghanistan that is in the way of these "open borders" and only Afghans can control this if they really shared IK's vision. My own take is that the conniving Taliban probably think of IK as a useful idiot and nothing more of his ideas.
I simply can’t do that unless / until you explain it to me Pakistani military establishment’s lack of consistency when it comes to its "policies" on Afghan Taliban. You can do it. You can post without whataboutry and deflections. Try it. Come on
With or without US support? If anything Pakistan should annex Afghanistan.
Without USA support. Afghanistanis are Muslims and should accept Pakistani rule. With or without US support?![]()
Okay, this will work obviously.Without USA support. Afghanistanis are Muslims and should accept Pakistani rule.
