THINK TANK: CONSULTANT
Yes, so what? It's in the past. Policies were made, now they are being remade. Do you think we are the only ones doing that?Sure, but Pakistani establishment did allow that obscurantist thought to fester in the first place, even if it didn’t spread to the masses. Now its blowback is coming in the form of Taliban which even the combined Western powers were unable to defeat in Afghanistan.
Blowback is part of operating in an environment where you have 70+ years old unsettled scores.
"Taliban which even the combined Western powers were unable to defeat in Afghanistan."
However, Pakistan is not a distant power. We are here to stay and if Taliban will make life hard, so can we for them and for Afghans. The ones who supposedly "defeated" everyone as you state come from the Pashtuns, right? Did you check how many Pashtuns live in Pakistan? Double the number of those in Afghanistan and these are Pakistanis vested in Pakistan's future.
