Another friend of mine was telling me the Penguins played in Sweden and had a good game. I of course missed it.

1992...Another friend of mine was telling me the Penguins played in Sweden and had a good game. I of course missed it.
You are a true gentleman1992...
Ran into Olga. She was returning a flat screen TV at Walmart.
Gave her a hand. We got talking.
Found out she never been outside of Detroit. Told her to meet met first thing the next morning.
Took her on her first American road trip.
By noon we were walking up the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Caught the last boat to Mackinac Island.
Found the last motel room on the island.
Owner of the restaurant on Main Street made a table for us.
Slept on the floor, gave Olga the bed.
Just wanted her to see Michigan.
When we got back, Russian Mafia tipped their hat.
On my birthday, they gave me a Russian bash.
The second of three storms off the coast of Baja has finally arrived. The rain we did not receive over the weekend is being made up for this morning. Raining at both houses today.
I've driven through Gallup several times on my way to and from Camp Perry. Will do so again next year. We're planning a trip to Camp Butner as well as the annual pilgrimage (and my return to) Camp Perry.
I read a lot of mystery/crime novels. There is a great series by Tony Hillerman that is set in the Native American reservations of the high country of AZ and NM. the main characters are Navajo police. Tony Hillerman and his daughter Anne give a lot of back stories about the people, culture and environment of the secnes of the crimes they investigate. You might enjoy this series if you read crime novels.I have long been fascinated by the high country in American Southwest in States like AZ and New Mexico. Once, in my younger years, took i-40 eastward from southern CA all the way to NC. I kind of recall, there was town called Gallup where I had stopped overnight, in exhaustion. I think the hotel was only $50-60 then. I was a poor college student then. I am talking about the 90s!!
Not surprised in the least.Speaking of the high country in American southwest, what do you say about Gene Heckman's body turned into a 'mummy' from the extreme dryness??
