Than probably the F-35 also has a terrible safety record. Those countries buying it understand the risk they are undertaking.

By the way, I am in no way a fan of the F-35 platform. On the contrary.

F-35 is a trusted platform that has crossed the 1000 plane mark and is employed effectively by the most professional air forces in the world. Countrys buy it because they trust its capabilities and its pilots. I have seen crash per 100k flight hours figure and for first 10 years in service f35 is still beating f-16 and f-15. Does this mean f-16/f-15 were bad platforms? No crashes happen and the first few in service are most cruicial part of aircrafts losses. What one needs to under Is f-35 the world renowned 5th gen fighter jet with cutting edge features and a high production rate has crashed that many times compared to tejas which is less than 40 airframes has been in development for 2 decades longer than f35 has been flying longer than f35 and has far fewer flight hours than f35 yet still ends up being a national embarrassment and crash in one of the worlds largest airshows. There is no comparison

In contrast, we did very well with the JF-17. Let's take this moment to highlight this fact and feel some pride. This China Pakistan collaboration has been a major succes with multiple air forces flying the JF-17. Potential customers are still ready to buy more JF-17 fighters.

There might be no foreign buyers but the project will likely continue. They'll just blame it on the pilot or come up with some other excuse which somehow absolves HAL, the aircraft, and the politicians. Given the excuses and rationalizing that I briefly saw on Indian media this project is a hard to kill, even if it means deaths of several IAF pilots.

I don't know if they're skilled soldiers on land or at sea,but flying isn't their thing.

So IAf lost on an average 35 aircraft annually through the 80s and 90s. It is down to single digits past 5-7 years. So an improvement.

Compare to Pakistan we were losing 15+ aircraft annually in 90s i believe and its down to 2-3. We are still beating them soundly per flight hour

There is no potential left .....the Foreign buyer were reluctant ...now they would not even consider it....

the impact is obvious ....better available solution ... trusted supply chain ....combat proven....JF17s or J-10Cs... China is in win-win position

Indians are furious on Made in India approach....

If draining water is a regular thing they would have come equipped with a pan or bucket and not shopping bags…

Pans and buckets are not even used for collecting ECS water in any air force base in India, so not going to be on any checklists for crashing abroad.
