An Indian Tejas fighter jet crashed during an aerial display at the Dubai Air Show

I was thinking whether he had choice to eject or not.
He lost his life just doing his best for his people. Respect for this man.
If the pilot is disoriented and isn’t able to notice he or she is in an unrecoverable position, there is limited time to make that decision to eject. As in the following video, the pilot has to be fully aware to be able to make such a decision, with enough time to survive.

In the case of the following mig crash, the pilot saw his aircraft was not responding as he planned, and so he had to ditch.

The crash of the Tejas could be a combination of both, pilot disoriented and the jet failing to perform as predicted. Indian officials don’t want to say it’s the fault of the jet, but their own air-chief is not satisfied with the progress of the program (a culture of delays as well as over hyping what can be delivered), as well as India’s track record on maintenance of their jets as demonstrated by their excessive crashes, so they will be question on the condition of the Tejas by any potential customers such as Armenia.

Complete the above given arithmetic sequence......pretty consistent every 2 or 3 years they lose one. :ROFLMAO:
Sorry don’t follow. I thought this was only the 2nd Tejas loss??

The Indians aren't happy though.

of course, as a customer if they are not happy they can switch engines. As I said before there is a reason why this engine is the first choice for the Gripen JAS 39, Rafale A and is the gold standard for many jet trainers. But if the Indians want a better engine, there isn't one in the same thrust, weight, reliability class available anywhere. The M88, the RR EJ200 are all inferior by every performance metric you can think of other than fictional Kaveri.

ah, yes the Rafale will solve all problems including my bank balance argument - very convincing.

Interesting and possibly what might have happened. A blackout.

Looks like he conked out as he was sideways and experiencing negative gs as he was pushing forward on the stick ..as he did that he lost consciousness and you can see that in the closeup video and see his hand raise up as he was not conscious….now we know what happened

Bcz they can't blame it on Pakistan, I think.
The funniest part is that India has never blamed the Soviet Union or Russia for the crashes of Mig 21s ; when more than 400 Mig 21s crashed killing 200 pilots and many more were seriously injured and rendered unfit to fly. Over 50 civilian deaths occurred on the ground.
Most the Mig 21 crashes were reportedly due. to engine failure. The Indian Air Force MiG-21's engines, particularly those manufactured by HAL, have been prone to failure. The exact cause of the engine failures were never publicly disclosed but
it was rumored to be failure of the turbine blades of the Tumanskii R-25-300 engine. A Bollywood movie "Rang De Basnti " obliquely discusses the issue of turbine blade failure and corruption in the quality standards of the turbine blades by the manufacturer.
Ironically apart from the Indian Air Force, no other operators of the Mig 21 ( Warsaw Pact Countries, Middle Eastern countries, Romania , Yugoslavia, Cuba Vietnam etc ) had such a large number of crashes and fatalities. Over 11,400 Mig 21s were built and used globally ( not counting the Chinese F-7 variants) but for an unknown reason the maximum number of crashes occurred in India.
Bottom line: India and the Indian media didn't blame the Soviet Union or later Russia for poor quality of engines on the 800 Mig 21s that saw service in the Indian Air force for 6 decades.
