Why are they sending ships to be sunk knowing they can cause environmental disasters?:-

A cargo ship sank in the Red Sea after an attack by Houthi militants, taking some 21,000 metric tons of fertilizer down with it, posing a significant environmental risk to one of the world’s busiest waterways and the home of many coral reefs.

The Rubymar was struck by an anti-ballistic missile fired by the Iranian-backed Houthis on Feb. 18 and sank early Saturday after “slowly taking on water” since the attack, U.S. Central Command said on social media early Sunday local time.

“The approximately 21,000 metric tons of ammonium phosphate sulfate fertilizer that the vessel was carrying presents an environmental risk in the Red Sea,” Centcom said, adding that the ship “also presents a subsurface impact risk to other ships transiting the busy shipping lanes of the waterway.”

The ship’s sinking “will cause an environmental disaster,” the Yemeni government said in a separate statement.

The Houthi attack last month caused an 18-mile oil slick and forced the crew to abandon the ship. The Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority, which coordinated the rescue of the Rubymar’s crew members, said the fertilizer onboard was classified as “very dangerous.”

It is believed to be the first time a vessel has been completely taken out by a Houthi strike. For months, the Houthis have been using missiles and drones to attack commercial and naval vessels traversing the Red Sea in protest of Israel’s war in Gaza.

“Yemen will continue to sink more British ships, and any repercussions or other damages will be added to Britain’s bill,” the Houthis’ deputy foreign minister, Hussein El-Ezzi, wrote Sunday on X.

However, a spokesperson with Britain’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said the Rubymar was not a British ship, but was operated by a Lebanese company, flagged to Belize and owned by a company registered in the Marshall Islands.

“We have been clear that any attacks on commercial shipping are completely unacceptable, and that the UK and our allies reserve the right to respond appropriately,” said the spokesperson, who also noted a high level of concern about the potential environment effects of the sinking.

Julien Jreissati, the program director at Greenpeace Middle East and North Africa, called for emergency response teams to be given “immediate access” to the site.

“As well as any further leaks of fuel oil from the engines, the sinking of the vessel could further breach the hull, allowing water to contact with the thousands of tons of fertilizer, which could then be released into the Red Sea and disrupt the balance of the marine ecosystems, triggering cascading effects throughout the food web,” Jreissati said.

“This disruption could have far-reaching consequences, affecting various species that depend on these ecosystems and, in turn, potentially impacting the very livelihoods of coastal communities.”

The Associated Press cited Ian Ralby, founder of maritime security firm I.R. Consilium, as saying that there were “many ways” the Red Sea could be harmed by the ship’s sinking and noted that if the ship remains intact underwater, the impact will be a slow trickle instead of a massive release.

Ralby noted that the sea has a circular water pattern, adding: “What spills in the Red Sea, stays in the Red Sea.”

The Rubymar was heading to Belarus from the United Arab Emirates when it was targeted, The Washington Post reported at the time. The British military’s United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations confirmed in an update Saturday that “the vessel has dragged anchor … and is down by the stern.”

The Houthis have said that ships linked to Israel or heading to its ports are legitimate targets, and the United States and Britain have launched several strikes against the group in an attempt to end the attacks — which do not appear to have stopped. On Saturday, Senior Houthi official Mohammed Ali al-Houthi slammed U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for Britain’s support of Israel and said Sunak was “responsible” for the ship’s fate. He also demanded that more humanitarian relief be allowed into Gaza.

Many large ships — which carry some 12 percent of all world trade — have altered their routes to avoid the Red Sea amid the Houthi threat, opting to travel the long way around southern Africa instead.

Such detours could add as much as a month in transit time, delaying the delivery of goods and further disrupting international commerce — a sector already grappling with the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic, rising inflation and disruptions caused by Russia’s war in Ukraine.

“With fewer and fewer container ships to target, the odds of another spill with massive environmental impact has increased enormously,” Ralby told the AP.

Who are the Houthis, and why are they attacking ships in the Red Sea?
Victoria Bisset, Helier Cheung, Mohamad El Chamaa and Bryan Pietsch contributed to this report.
When the US and its coalition of 30 countries bomb the Houthis and Yemen again, just remember this article of yours when you start questioning why they're doing it.

Reuters are telling us the Israeli are not sending a peace delegation to Qatar tomorrow so it’s not looking good is it?

What would you regard as a fair investigation sir?

We still have a week to go. The delegations do not meet face to face anyway, so talks do continue without a physical presence. I hope something comes out of the negotiations.

And yet, none of those things have happened, nor do they appear likely to happen at present. Iran and UK have diplomatic relations, as do Turkey and Israel. The Arabs are all asleep. The Pakistanis have their own mini drama serials going on.

But let us all together get bent out of shape over the evil USA and its Israeli overlords. Nearly 13k posts and over 350k views. Great Success for members and management.

Yeah, that will be a good idea.

Throughout history, monstrous regimes have massacred civilians with impunity where the victims could do little more than plead for help and record the crimes for history. The monsters were eventually shamed and, sometimes, held accountable.

To their credit, the Gazans are fiercely fighting and inflicting damage on their enemies backed by the greatest military machine in history.

Many of us in this thread have acknowledged the complicity or weakness of the Muslim rulers to stop this carnage. Hardly anyone harbors any illusions of accountability in the near future, given the geopolitical realities that have also been pointed out in this thread, but the crimes must be documented, publicized and recorded for future accountability, whenever that happens.

Each of us has a choice: we can cynically taunt the victims for their helplessness, or we can record and publicize the monstrosity.

Of course. Of course. That will surely help.

Documentations of Nazi crimes were used in the Nuremberg Trials. Similar accountability has occurred in other cases. Accountability is much easier when crimes are documented.

Learning history can be an illuminating experience and well advised. It takes more effort than typing zero-content cynical taunts but nothing worthwhile in life comes without effort.

Ah yes. So you are anticipating a Hamas victory to make the accountability similar to your example, I take it?

There's essentially no diplomatic effort by Muslims and Arabs to stop the war on Gaza. It appears me to all of them are hoping to place Gaza in dire situation without coming to their help to get Hamas to surrender. Even privately, I believe it's in interest of Iran axis as well. Getting rid of Hamas means they can all secure their agendas in the region for the long term without Hamas disrupting it by making the focus be the Palestinian cause.

So, we have 16,000 Muslims fighting for dignity of Arabs and Muslims, and Islam. And we have liars and munafiqs actively hoping this small movement disappears into history. That's wild.

Muslims will probably be killed in masse with rest of humanity in divine punishments as only small percentage within them deserve support from God. Probably Muslims with Jesus will be few around tens of thousands.
You are reading too much into this. Most Muslim countries are governed by individuals considered as cowards surrounding front-line cowards. Due to the availability of easily acquired corrupt funds, they are reluctant to jeopardize their opulent and corrupt lifestyles. These short-sighted individuals erroneously believe they are immune to war and genocide. However, they are profoundly and foolishly mistaken. They are gradually being addressed individually, and inevitably, their reckoning awaits. Netanyahu and his cohort exhibit similar traits to the Nazis, who, fueled by a formidable military arsenal, deemed themselves as invincible. In parallel, the Arabs, akin to the Allies, are timidly hoping to evade the impending threat.

Contrary to Arab expectations, history has demonstrated that once a genocidal state prevails, its thirst for slaughter and blood becomes insatiable, resembling the tendencies of serial killers. Hitler first attacked the minorities in Germany to instill confidence and hate in his population and then turned on Czechoslovakia starting with this small and weak nation to increase his army’s experience and confidence; he then attacked Austria and then Poland and then we know the rest. Netanyahu and his bands of Nazis , who if they aired their views in European countries, would have been locked up for being the outspoken Nazis they are, are using the Nazi playbook for genocide and remotely with lies and spins these same European states are complicitly coddling Israel.

Following Gaza, Israel will replenish its depleted weapons stockpile and treasury with the assistance of US ZionoJews. Subsequently, it will select another country for territorial expansion, concurrently weakening those countries likely to stand against Israel’s land grab and extermination of indigenous people . The magnitude of their strategic planning is indeed remarkable, demonstrated by their manipulation and neutralisation of Russia through the Ukraine pawn and the exploitation of China's economic fragility, which rests on precarious pillars of dependent trade. Meanwhile, powerful Muslim leaders merely bark like timorous poodles, issuing hollow threats of action and watch the starvation and slaughter of Palestinians through indifference.

The resilience and valor of the Palestinian resistance play a pivotal role in Gaza's ongoing struggle against overwhelming odds, inflicting considerable pain on the invading Nazi Israeli army to the extent the IDF have lost over 5000 soldiers, thens of thousands injured and are having a recruitment crisis. Without the constant influx of US taxpayer money and weapons, Israel would have collapsed long ago. Nevertheless, the situation for the Israeli army in Gaza remains precarious, and intervention by either Egypt or Jordan could result in the decisive crushing of the trapped Israeli forces. Even a swift preparation and a show of force on the border could effectively halt the Israeli genocide. Failure to act, the Arab countries lured into short-term safety and comfort, are unwittingly setting themselves up for long-term disaster, the warnings are clear on the wall as daylight which they can't deny.

Remedial reading comprehension is also advisable.

Please read my earlier post about having no illusions of accountability in the near term given the current geopolitical situation.

Accountability for Nazi crimes took decades and is still continuing. Accountability for colonial era crimes, especially in Africa, took centuries to materialize but is happening. It takes time, sometimes decades, sometimes centuries, but the important thing is to document, publicize and not forget.

Ah yes. Of course. The really long term view. That will surely help even more.

Israeli policy is to keep Palestinians confined to a open-air prison. Netanyahu wants to kill/expel all Palestinians. At this rate, all Palestinians will have been mercilessly killed off within a year. In the UK, their prime Minister was forced to resign over attending a party during covid lockdowns. Yet, it appears, when it comes to Israel, Netanyahu is master over all the West and can do as he wishes:
..
..
Occupied Palestine: Al-Masdar to Al-Mayadeen: Netanyahu does not want any negotiations leading to an agreement that guarantees complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, the return of the displaced, shelter and reconstruction, the opening of the crossings and breaking the siege.

It's blatantly obvious the choice the Palestinians are being given are die or leave the country, but with Egypt blocking their exit the only outcome is death and the enslavement of the remainder carnaged Palestinians. What is even more concerning is that most White folks in position of power have been brainwashed into excepting the Israeli atrocities are a reflection of their white supremacy that's why many of them accept the genocide. With norms like this weak minorities, in these so called Schizophrenic civilised states, are at risk and should have a strategy when such a scenario becomes reality for them and their families.

Good points, I see what you're saying. I'd like to note, however, that the resistance in Palestine cannot defy reality and physical constraints. This is not a situation where one area is safe but the other isn't. There's no way to recruit, very difficult to resupply. This forces the Palestinian Resistance to move to more sporadic type of warfare and it requires opposing states to intervene, not to save Palestinian resistance or Hamas, but to save the whole people from a genocide as Israeli's have made their intents clear.

This was to be expected. Do you know who was the biggest donor of humanitarian aid before this war? You won't believe it: it was the US, Israel, and the "Evil West" not Arab or Muslim countries.

Qatar exclusively helped Hamas while the "Evil West" was sending tons of money to the people in Gaza. Did you know that the "Evil West" gave a higher percentage of GDP in financial aid to Gaza than Europe received after World War II through the Marshall Plan?
Zionists are evil. The people of the East and the West are in agreement of that. The people of the West do not support Israel's actions. Own up your actions alone without cosigning the West unto them.

Why would Arabs help the people in Gaza now when they never did before? Egypt has built three additional walls on the border with Israel in the last 5 months so that no one can escape to Egypt.

You obviously live in some kind of alternative world.
Any credible sources on this???
