H-1B visas must end’: Wife of US citizen shares plight of landing IT jobs

Well this is shocking, with that huge GDP, enormous forex reserves, biggest growth rate, demographic dividend.... Why would people be leaving, no I can't believe it

India is a myth. India is an extremely unlivable country due to overpopulation, pollution, bad hygiene, bad social behavior, shortage of career growth options. I am not saying Pakistan is grand but any day I'd rather live in Pakistan over India or Bangladesh.

@r3alist bro

It is after all jobs in another sovereign nation, the question is do you consider that a privilege or a right?

Goes without saying, it is a privilege, not a right. Indians have no divine rights to jobs anywhere but in India. Having said that,

#Indian immigrants will remain in US till the law of the land permits that and employers are willing to employ them.
# American corporates are free to dole out the activities necessary for carrying out business wherever they find best value for money employees.

Regards

@Meengla sb,

Being a Pakistani Muslim, you would naturally say that. Most non-Muslim South Asians and most Muslim Indians, assuming a choice was readily available, would prefer India.

I trust your conclusion on Indian Muslims is as authoritative as your understanding of maga America

@ihussain sb

Former US Congressman and economist Dave Brat and Indian-American diplomat Mahvash Siddiqui have raised new questions on the H-1B visa programme,

I am very happy to note that Devavrat bhai is a former Congressman. Let's hope and pray that all anti H1B American netas become ex-Congressmen soon.

Regards

Ok so if you are not tone deaf then it's basically challenging the Americans, a fight to the last available job, well maga ones.

That's even worse.

I would have thought, after an initial struggle or agitation you might moderate your views.

This approach will make a previously ambivalent American population more focused on Indians, or annoyed. Right or wrong, the day we'll see the opportunity to work in America as a privilege, amusingly the Indians consider their exported workforce to be a privilege for America, apparently almost all of them
Let them focus on Indians. They will soon realize this whole thing was a facade for other means of migration. The H1B make up less than 1% of the migrations. Let's see how long they can concentrate on that.

@SoulSpokesman
I don't think anything is going to change with the H1B program, so relax it's business as usual, as always.

And don’t worry, that toothless $100K fee stunt will get challenged and tossed out soon enough, just like the H4 case. So sit back, take it easy, and get ready for those odd jobs we all know are waiting.

Take MTGs claim for example. 80% of these are entry level jobs and goes to Indian and Chinese. No. 80% of them are renewals.

Dave brat claims 220k went one Indian district. Not only it didn't but these are consular numbers which covers entire regions and they don't issue 220k visa on H1B, the cap is 85k the 220k is renewals.

Another guy claims young Americans are competing with H1B, no. These companies have to publish classified ads in different platforms and interview Americans. Basically you won't find Americans to work in some small town as doctors in Kansas. But an H1B would.

Do you think the h1b lives in small town in Kansas for rest of his life?

What does anyone do when the gig is up?

Take the knock and move on? It is after all jobs in another sovereign nation, the question is do you consider that a privilege or a right?

India and China are uber competitive societies. People leave to escape the competition
While India is behind China I still see Chinese running out of their country. It is no surprise Indians queue up to leave

USA gets 3 million immigrants - legal and illegal, h1b and dependents are around 250,000. It is not a huge number. It is a number that impacts the white collar professional market. With AI the number of white collar jobs will decline.

The majority of Chinese who get American education go back to China

You simply just makes stuff up

That is true also for Indians. There are only 85000 h1 visas.
There are as many Chinese Americans as Indian Americans.

Facts are inconvenient

Well firstly 70% of h1bs, over decades have been Indians. And I believe 20% Chinese.

So I hope you are adjusting for proportions in whatever numbers you think you have.

Basic logic is inconvenient as well

Does it matter how Chinese Americans are coming to USA? There are in the same numbers as Indian Americans. They are coming to USA just like Indian Americans. This is despite a better economy.
