I was discussing this exact thing with someone the other day.
IMO at that time, there was sufficient internal dissent against Musharraf, and Kayani had a role to play there too. Right now the ISI is too aligned, and so is the senior cadre (for the most part).
But there is widespread dissent being claimed for some time, if you know what I mean. If that is true, then something might happen, otherwise those claims are false.
