JF-17 - Updates, News & Discussion

your estimate is incorrect- PAF slashed its order to 30 and dripfed PAC to keep the line running, it was running at like 1/2-1/3rd capacity, there was tons of headroom but PAF doesnt want to load to the max PAC with orders because then once the orders are complete PAC will sit idle, whereas this way of dripfeeding, its active for another 5-6 years atleast

I thought production was increased closer to maximum after may war?

By my estimate there are 40-50 jf-17s of paf and azeri af still yet to be fulfilled which will have to be fulfilled prior to any Bangladeshi deliveries. This will likely take till 2029/30. So likely Bangladesh will recieve j-10 to fill current gaps before jf-17
Pakistan should increase the production rate. We might have another order before 2026.

Maybe someone outta ask this Mallu if US DoD acquired a stake in HAL, thus destroying their Program. How many GE Engines delivered (this year) ?

Perhaps one could compare HAL with PAC.

One can't deliver to its own (Indian) Air Force.

...and the other is taking in International Orders & begun deliveries to Azerbaijan.

nope! still running nice and slow to dripfeed
Would also like to ask why is production still being dripfed when theres already a backlog of orders both domestic and foreign and theres an obvious need to retire legacy platforms as soon as possible. Is it just another finances issue because paf should be able to add orders whenever the line is close to idling

The limitation on JF17 sales is more strategic politics, than the technical capability of the plane itself. I don't see JF17 having much of a reach into the middle east, as that is very much the USAs back yard for military sales.

ME countries are well aware that USA will give them downgraded stuff compared to Israel. There is possibility that they might end up having some Chinese tech.

In the international military trade field, there is a common but unspoken unwritten rule:

If you don't buy my overpriced weapons, I will punish you (through sanctions, proxy wars, direct military threats, etc.).

How many countries do you think can defy this rule?

What ***** often forget is that even MiG tried to lobby against rd93 export for jf-17 due to its potential in competing with mig-29 sales but russians shut them down and allowed the sale anyways. If the russia who puts own self intrests above all else doesnt care about their own defence industrys objections what can indias diplomatic protests ammount to 30 years after contract signing what can ***** hope to accomplish
