India Economy Thread

According to some, since india didn't "bend the knee" to Fuherer Trump, we are not going to see a deal anytime soon. According to IMF, we will lose 0.3% percent GDP growth. Also, inflation is record low. So nominal growth is not going to touch 10% this year. Good for PCI though. We are easily clocking 5.5% or more annual growth on that front.

can you even define GDP, let alone making sense out of its interpretation?

your problem is not GDP BTW given the size of your population!

What....what? Define Gross domestic product?

You understand the difference between size and growth, right?

What..what again? Others understood it all too well. Actual GDP growth, nominal, inflation..all that jazz.

Strange :
Indian rupee is weaker than the Afghan currency despite "8.2% growth " and $4 trillion economy.
Could anyone explain please?

Many countries weaken their currencies to maintain export competitiveness, while other issues include current account balance, some major world events, dollar index and all. L ragebait.
Ask @Thinking to explain why India's per Capita GDP is one quarter of Mexico .
Mexico is right next to USA, the biggest consumer market on earth and gets to export a lot of it to them. No brainer.

What exactly are you on to? It's like asking what Pakistan's PCI is almost half of India now or why Nepal, Bhutan or BD are poorer than India or how India will catch up to Sri Lanka in few years? This is called economics. Mexico paid attention to economics like milking the giant next door.

Is Iran asking why Pakistan's PCI is 1/3rd of us? Why America's PCI is 6 times that of China? Weird question!

Country GDP per Capita (Nominal USD 2024 )Comparison to India :
  • India. - $2,672
  • Mexico. - $13,965
  • Sri Lanka - $4,187
  • Maldives $18,684.
  • China $13,810
  • Bangladesh $2820
  • UAE. $49,378

Interesting topic you have chosen, can you differentiate between geometric/lognormal growth, harmonic and airth. growth?!!!

and

whats the difference between time and $ weighted returns!
keenly waiting for your response!

lets see, how financially sane you are!

Da .....? Are you seriously asking me about the difference between two? This thread was all nice with me posting news till you guys popped in? Atleast "debate" something intelligent.

P.S: Size is "GDP". Growth is how much you add to it annually.

I am an ex IITian ffs. Are you joking me with lame s..t like geometric/logarithmic growth? I can only pretend last one is "arithmetic"...I am not a "finance" or statistic guy. But I understand math. I don't need to understand stats. I do finance all too well with my job and my stock investment.

This is what happens when you can't debate about what was presented so your change the goalpost! So I have to "understand" weighted returns to grasp the idea of GDP, real growth, nominal growth, inflation etc.?
