Venezuela - US Conflict: News, Updates

The problem is, such an internal movement does not actually exist; there is opposition to the Maduro regime, but their number is not strong (Low ten to mid-ten thousand) and too spread out, unless there are US forces supporting an uprising as we did with the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan, this is going to get put down quickly.

If US were to do anything, it's mostly just going to be more extrajudicial killing around Venezuela and there are probably nothing coming out of that..

How much of a chance would you say there is of the U.S. resorting to land, sea, and air invasion? Considering the U.S. and Allies might not resort to nation building as it hasn't worked out as intended in the past.

The posture of the US military in the Caribbean is not designed for a land invasion. There may be some coastal raids but nothing to occupy. This will be an air campaign and it may lead to an invasion but that would require a build up of a minimum of 100k troops.

Folks, the thread may be getting to the point where extra oversight by the mods is warranted.

Consider carefully what you post. Is it directly relevant to the current situation or not? If not, chances are it will be removed on your behalf.

Zero chance in my view. Granted, last I knew either the 22nd or 26th MEU was doing a float in the region. Prior to Commandant Berger doing his Force Restructuring, an MEU was capable of fighting on its own up to 90 days before reinforcements arrived. Force Restructuring has changed a lot of that.

Airstrikes on the other hand; when it comes to long range missions, no one does it better than us not to mention the Ford CSG is on station.

It was kept secret, Trini Govt did not disclosed until construction and installation was spotted, and questions were raised.

⭕️ #Venezuela calls for respect for its airspace "without conditions" in response to #Trump

▪️ The Venezuelan government has called for respect for its airspace "without conditions," following the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump that the airspace over and around Venezuela will be completely closed.

▪️ This came in a statement on the website of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which stated that the country's airspace is protected in accordance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization.

▪️ The statement affirmed that Venezuela will not accept any "orders, threats, or interventions issued by any foreign power."

▪️ It stated that any entity other than Venezuelan institutions has no authority to interfere in the use of the country's airspace, obstruct it, or impose conditions on it.

▪️ It also referred to the unilateral suspension by the U.S. government of flights repatriating Venezuelan migrants, noting that these flights are carried out under the "Return to the Homeland" plan with the aim of regularly repatriating Venezuelans to their country on a weekly basis.

▪️ The Venezuelan statement also drew attention to the fact that U.S. military movements pose a threat to the Caribbean region and North South America.

▪️ It called on the international community, sovereign states, the United Nations, and relevant multilateral organizations not to remain silent in the face of these actions.

▪️ It emphasized that Venezuela will respond to any practices targeting it with all the force granted to it by international law and the "anti-imperialist spirit of our people, in an honorable and legitimate manner."

▪️ It also affirmed that Venezuela will continue to exercise its sovereignty, protected by international law, over its airspace in full.

▪️ For his part, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil expressed his rejection of Trump's statements, noting that this stance "reflects an approach laden with colonial ambitions toward the Latin American region."

▪️ In a post on the "X" platform, he added that his country rejects Trump's statements, which he considered a "threat" against the sovereignty of another country.

▪️ He explained that such statements constitute a "unilateral, arbitrary, and hostile" action that is inconsistent with the most basic principles of international law, deeming them "part of the ongoing assault policy" against Venezuela.

In a related context, Venezuelan media reported that Simón Bolívar International Airport of Maiquetía in the capital Caracas, Venezuela's most important airport, continues its air operations normally despite Trump's statements

Manduro is very entrenched, its basically lasted more than twice as long as the Taliban (Taliban was in government between 1996 to 2001 when they were kicked out, then 2021 til now, until we got kicked out. Chávez was installed in 1999, and it has not changed since then, which means it's not going to be a short coup; they have probably purged and purged and then purged some more and gotten to the government now.

Unless Trump fancies a fight will probably take longer than Afghanistan at this point, and the chance of any serious move is very limited. If we are doing this, this is a multiple-decade affair, and we probably will have permanent rotation in a high-risk area. If the Manduro people decided to fight us.

China and Russia will not do anything. They couldn't defend Syria, Gaddafi, Saddam and even Iran, Venezuela is so far away and in Usa dominated region. Usa wants to make sure they control all of America so they have total dominance for the rest of the century.

The USA wants strategic control of Venezuelan oil reserves as it will be strategic in any show down with China. Its a bit like the scorched earth" tactic the Romans did to to deny resources to an enemy by owning all the oil wells. The wants to control all the oil it possibly can, looking to starve out China in a war. The whole middle east is basically under USA control, except for Iran, where the USA regime change operation failed to replace the IRI/Supreme leader with Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
