This doesn't surprise me given the level and extent of the influence over the Mexican government that is held by the various cartels.

This move has nothing to do with cartels. Some of the countries in the region, of course, are opposing Trump's illegal and unilateral move of closing another country's airspace without UNSC's authorization.

Pete Hegseth has ordered the killing and "finishing off" of either poor fishermen or people who move goods between Venezuela and some of their neighbors. What kind of a psychopath that orders the killing of people on boats without knowing their identity and their goods?

This whole operation is all about a big and powerful nation bullying a small nation due to their natural resources.
