There are deep rooted issues with the city. The powers that be wouldn’t want to lose their grip on Karachi nor on a federal level give Karachi more representation (transparent census of Karachi would translate into more representation which powers that be wouldn’t want).

Let's see if 28th can divide Pakistan in several administrative units.

Karachi does provide 65% of taxes.
Rest of pakistan,.especially Lahore and islamabad, Punjab are tax thieves.
Let FBR give all the numbers and tax theft.

Urdu speaking built karachi,
established airline Orient/PIA, Shipping, financial, banking, and manufacturing industries.
Setup universities, and schools.

It is that high based purely on tax revenue collected. No one pays taxes in Lahore Pindi and Islamabad.

Just the Lalookhait market pays more tax than all retailers in above three cities combined.

Karachi does not "provide 65% of Pakistan taxes", it collects 65% of the taxes. More than half of it is collected from imports at the Karachi port paid by the entire country. Of the remaining, more than half are collected off coorporations headquartered in Karachi but serving the entire country, this includes sales tax paid on their product sold in Ishkoman. This has been discussed countless times here and it's best not to piggyback off it to spread idiotic divisions in the country.

Federal gov't AKA the wardi mafia is most definitely responsible for undemocratically imposing the highly corrupt unpopular scourge of PPP on Karachi and wider Sindh.

PPP has no base of support in Sindh let alone Karachi. Demographically speaking Sindhis are only 40% of the population in Sindh but the Daku Waderays of PPP are always in power courtesy wardi mafia jamadars.

Why tf are you taking it personally? Are you in charge of the f'ing budget that you need to provide clarification that's not required? Who died and made you spokesman for the govt?

Fact is that Karachi is treated like sh!t - only extracting and giving pittance in return. This is admittedly an emotional response, and it is because people like you miss the forest for the trees - the pleas of the inhabitants of Karachi are not heard and strawman arguments are made in place.

Here is the reality - most Karachiites will agree:
1. As much as Sindhis like to claim Karachi was 'given to them 3000 years ago,' the Sindhi decision makers (i.e. PPP) don't care about its development, and they funnel the extracted wealth from Karachi to their personal fiefdoms. The Sindhis that care are to timid and weak to make a difference
2. Other ethnicities, including Muhajirs, are politically irrelevant, as devolution of power has not happened.
3. Administrative and development control for Karachi needs to be separated from Govt. of Sindh as they've not been able to do their job

Karachi and Hyderabad need to be carved out as a separate Jinnahpur province of Pakistan. This new province could be an economic powerhouse. It can even be developed as Singapore of South Asia once Indo-Pak relations soften.
