JF-17 - Updates, News & Discussion

Tanzania has more chance of buying JF-17 in small numbers than Kyrgyzstan due to limited budget.
Thats true. But i was on about the ambassador. All these Taan countries of central asia are very nationalistic , tribal and get offended easily and readily. Same as Afghanistan. You can offend them by not even trying. You can start a war and full blown invasion from Afghanistan by just blasting Punjabi songs at Torkham border on loudspeakers facing Afghanistan. They will get offended enough to attack Pakistan.
Someone who has a deep understanding of their mood and culture can do great for Pakistan.

once again... with a defence budget of $470 million, we can keep dreaming.

JF-17 procurement itself for a squadron would be far in excess of that.

Maybe we can sell them like...3...
There are many other business opportunities within our defense industries. Not just JF-17. The aircraft is usually shown to foreign delegates as proof of capability and technology.

who do you think was the signee of the mou at DAS
maybe iraq, but i dont hold my breath on MoU's to be honest.

The barrier to signing them is quite low, but i actually dont know tbh, ive not been following. But AFAIK, iraqi shahpar deal is near completion, and the original rumours was rafale+french drones vs jf17+shahpar package

The same can be said about Sindhi identity. Play a Punjabi song in certain Sindhi circles, and someone will take offense, reading it as an intrusion on their cultural pride. Likewise, if you play loud Pashto music in a Gujranwala market, chances are someone will get offended and even accuse the shopkeepers of being “Afghani.” These reactions aren’t really about the music itself, they’re about the fragile boundaries of identity, the way language and culture are weaponized as markers of belonging or exclusion.

this might be the most retarded thing i have read on this forum , but i get it you have to defend the cavemen in any situation right ,

The list of countries have shown interest is pretty long, and the competition is tough. Bangladesh, Iraq, Tanzania (where a Chinese delegation is currently active),
Sri Lanka, Qatar, Bahrain, and Egypt have all been in the mix. I’m not saying every one of them will end up buying, but the curiosity is real. The Arab states, with their deep pockets, might still lean toward American or European jets, but the fact that they’re even looking at the JF‑17 says something.

I hear you load and clear that my words upset you, and I didn’t mean for them to come across that way.

Does Kyrgyzstan need a fighter like JF-17? They have no major requirements I think, fleet us mostly just helicopters

I can understand some of it and the overall message. They say he got familiarized with displayed products and was briefed about the capabilities (including JF-17). Just what you see in the video anyway.

When you fly to Bishkek, you (still) see some old-ass-RadioShack-dinosaur-age-jets from the Soviet-era parked around.

Do they need something like JF-17?

No, not really - but ... you never know.

All these Centeral Asian Countries are like cousins, but that doesn't mean that they won't have differences.

Lucky for Kyrgyzstan - they don't border an an a-hole Country like Afghanistan.

Machinery shouldn't be a problem, only problem lies in rnd
They have CHF machine that can do any other weapons’ barrels.

They spring, plastic molding etc can be used to make different parts.

Heat and surface treatment facilities can be reused.

Only thing remaining are turning and milling machines. If they have CNCs those that be reprogrammed to make pretty much any parts.
