Kadooğlu stated that the TİM Syria Desk met with a delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Economy and Industry and discussed Turkey-Syria trade relations, regional investment issues, and inter-institutional cooperation. He noted the following:
"There is a great desire and mutual trust to develop trade relations between the two countries. Our Ministry is making significant efforts to establish a much more comprehensive economic partnership agreement to replace the free trade agreement previously signed with Syria, which has been de facto inoperative since 2011. Türkiye's exports to Syria increased by 49.3 percent, exceeding $1.2 billion, and the Southeastern Anatolia region's share approached $500 million in the first seven months of the year. Based on the current order environment, we expect Türkiye's exports to Syria to exceed $2 billion by the end of the year, and our region's exports to Syria to approach $1 billion."
Kadooğlu noted that the Southeastern Anatolia Region's exports to Syria increased by 41 percent in the first seven months of the year.

This is fantastic news. Not only Syria is recovering but South East Anatolia is also bouncing back and heavily benefiting from Syria enetring the global trade. A rare and important win-win situation.
