Syrian Civil War and The future of Syria after liberation

They have the capacity. They can mobilize millions and Turkey, Qatar could provide them weapons and funding. They also have more combat experience. It's actually now or never because in long term they will be pacified.

Well they did fight and won war against Syria Russia and Iran, I am sure Israel is a piece of a cake.

It does change things, Syria is in a stronger position if the PKK element is removed and the US has left, b/c then there is only 1 front left, towards Suwaida and the Golan. right now there are 3 fronts. Consolidation plus acquisition of resources is always a positive.

It won't be Jolani that initiates the fight, it will be Turkey and the SNA groups. Me personally this fight should have happened 1 year ago, after Assad fell and then Manbij was taken, if it was up to me, Turkey would have intervened and we would have be done with this nuisance. I'm not really sure what the calculation is or what the holdup is, but IMO Turkey has been too passive in letting thing play out, rather than actively shaping it.

Syria is not controlled alone by Turkey and allies, Usa is also active and don't forget the might Saudis, Jolani is their man in Syria. Otherwise Arabs will never accept Turkish rule, its like an invasion for them. Israel is also taking advantage of the situation.

Actually, Syria will cease to exist with time. In the near future, it will be divided into several countries; similar to first the creation of South Sudan from Sudan; and now talking about dividing Sudan up.

The delulu here is great.. The question is who is willing to use the amount of money, manpower and resources like Russia, Iran, SAA and Hezbollah did to fight the rebels who came to power..

Ask yourself this question? Who is willing to commit to that amount for another 15-20 years? The answer is fuking nobody.... Syria has settled it is game-over. The winner took the cake home

The American troop/intelligence concentration in Kurdish parts of Syria and Iraq hints towards soft division of both countries, not defacto (yet). Iraqi Kurdishtan is already an autonomy and few days ago the biggest US consulate in the world was (worth almost 1 billion USD) opened there. Who knows what follows, maybe air-defence systems to intercept Iranian missiles. Anyways it's indeed pointing towards US-Israeli plan to fragment the region.

Syrian administration/HTS will have a big task to remove USA and their Kurdish proxy, let alone liberating other regions (Druze) and land occupied by Israel.

A state in a stronger position is always a positive, not a negative. 1/3 of the country is controlled by people who flirt with Israel hoping to carve out a seperate state, and control most of the oil.
Unless I’m mistaken pkk has never really had any ties to Israel only people really trying to commit Israel to carve out land for them are Druze.
I have to say right now SDF is sitting quiet nicely in a position of power why would they give that up currently only country that could make them even consider a power share agreement with jolani is America.
I definitely agree Syria should be joined whole or put under a referendum as whole nation if they wished to be partitioned if the people say they want separation I don’t disagree with that.

Oh Mazloum Abdi is definitely a zionist, he reached out of support against Turkey and the Syrian govt towards Israel, and they have Israeli lobbyists/neocons supporting and advocating for them.

They are overestimating their leverage, if a Turkish offensive happens, then their leverage will be far less.

The majority of the land they control is Sunni Arabs.

well one not looking for another war to kill more Muslims no matter where one is from I think there is definitely a more peaceful way to overcome differences instead of always using threat but pretty odd we go to turkey to use military force to cull from everything we see so far as of late are Kurds who aren’t fighting jolani forces from minor minor skirmishes that may have occurred but won’t ask turkey to set up bases in southern Syria to prevent Israel from invading or attacking Syrias current majority leadership.

General Mazloum Abdi, leader of the
Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), has publicly stated the SDF has no direct ties with Israel but has also expressed an openness to receiving support from Israel to protect Kurdish interests, viewing Israel as a potential ally against common threats like Iran and Turkey, though he has denied existing connections, despite some Israeli public support for Kurds and past interactions.
Key Points:
  • Denial of Ties: Abdi has explicitly denied having any current relationship with Israel, calling such claims false, according to Kurdistan24 and The Jerusalem Post.
  • Openness to Support: He has welcomed the idea of Israeli support, particularly military or intelligence aid to defend Kurds from attacks and preserve their achievements, acknowledging Israel's regional influence, notes Rudaw English and The Jerusalem Post.
  • Regional Context: Abdi frames this openness as a pragmatic approach to complex regional politics, seeking allies for survival against Turkish and Iranian influence, says Rudaw English and Reuters.
  • Historical Context: Israel has a history of supporting Kurdish groups, especially in Iraq, and many Kurds view Israel positively as a state born from persecution, notes The Jerusalem Post.
No ties from AI google just open to receiving help are warmer relations in the future same could be said about jolanis recent comments and honestly a few Arab countries do I agree with his comments but jolani has been from what we have seen bending over backwards for Israel and he hasn’t gotten anything in return honestly Lebanons government is far worse they have openly met Israeli officials on their land while Israel is bombing and raiding their land

Why wouldn’t they they have many people in Lebanon who were against Syria of that time and have long standing hatred of Syria Assad family in general because of their occupation and many targeted acts against Lebanese politicians and civilians now if we said south Lebanon okay that would definitely be unexpected

Do you remember this child? Now he's speaking in the presidential palace, the place where Assad fled.

If it’s held under a national referendum and all sides abide by it than it’s for Syrians to decide I feel that actually would be best for a country like Yemen personally

The PKK are not muslims, they are Atheist ethno nationalist yezidi/neozoroastrian types. The equivalent of Pahlavists/MEK.

And they have certainly courted Israel.

In a recent interview with The Jerusalem Post, Ilham Ahmad, co-chair of the AANES Foreign Relations Department, stated that Israel should be part of regional security discussions, saying “Syria’s security requires Israeli intervention.” Her remarks come as international attention remains focused on Israel’s role in broader Middle East tensions, including its military operations in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria.

Hakan Fidan
Happy Freedom Day to the first anniversary of the victory on December 8, which the Syrian people commemorate as their Freedom Day!We never forget the pains our Syrian brothers and sisters endured while waging their struggle for freedom, and their honorable stance displayed despite all kinds of oppression. We carry in our hearts the memory of those we lost in those dark days and the remembrance of our martyred brothers and sisters. The Syrian people, for 14 years, lit a light that protected human dignity against the darkness of tyranny. As Turkey, it was our duty to help ensure that this light does not go out, and when necessary, to share our home and bread. We take pride in shouldering the burden of this honorable struggle. When we look back, we see that we stood on the right side of history, and we live the pride of being on the side of the oppressed and the just. The silence of ruined cities, the losses of war, and the tears of displaced people are not the fate of this region.Indeed, the Syrian government has embarked on a new struggle deserving of appreciation to quickly heal the wounds of years of destruction. With the determination of the Syrian people fighting to own their tomorrows, I sincerely believe that much more beautiful days await our Syrian brothers and sisters.Turkey stands by its brothers even in these days when Syria is being rebuilt.I respectfully remember the memory of those who resisted oppression, those who paid the price for their land, those who were left homeless, and those who lost their loved ones.May God have mercy on all our named and unnamed martyrs and reunite the Noble Damascus, which holds a special place in our hearts, with peace and salvation once again.

Pkk is more of an umbrella group that has many overlapping beliefs much like the plo again I’m not saying I agree with the pkk anymore than I agree with jolani but thinking threats and more war is the way is just going to bring Syria to more ruin even if turkey backs it in a war let’s say trump decides to leave quietly in the night sdf(pkk) will give jolanis forces a far more fierce fight than Assads military who had no desire to fight for regime they didn’t want to die for anymore
