Because of historical rivalry and conflict of civilizations.
Iran was at war with Greeks/Roman empires for centuries. Losing Syria, for the time being, to western empire can be classified in this context.
Before Mullah revolution, no western "civilization" had attacked Iran for 1700 years LOL. In recent most history since Iran turned itself into a Shia empire, it has bloodily clashed with Ottoman Turks (genetically same west asians) or Eurasian Russians, no one else. UK entered the game much much later. Iran calls all these nations its brothers, partners now. So tell me what western civilization has attacked Iran in last Greco invasion that justifies Mullah induced destruction of Iran in name of hostility towards west?
We have tried to rid ourselves from western dominance for less than 50 years. Don't be emotional like an arrogant kid, think beyond your nose.
Iranians practice their religion like Arabs do, speak in their language, eat their own food. Please enlighten us about what "western dominance" over Iran, you have problem with. If you are sneakingly trying to refer to Shahi times then Iran at that time was world 14th largest economy (1977), probably in top 10 if European countries are compounded up as EU. Iranian GDP PPP and HDI was higher than entire MENA region, it has all nosedived since Islamo marxists took over from the gutters of Iranian society. Can you tell how did that happen?
Iran fell behind west in many fields after assassinating Amir Kabir. It was the intersection point of a falling Iran and rising western empire which was born in Britain. It got worsened after downing Mosaddegh by American traitors and we experienced a free fall until Islamic revolution. Pahlavis gave up on Bahrain and Ararat mountains but IR successfully repelled Ba'ath army's attack and didn't lose an inch of its soil.
This story may work on low IQ mullah cultists but it wont work on any person with even an average IQ. Iran post renaissance in Europe never had any competition with west. Qizilbash empires were militarily great powers of their times but scientifically they were much much below the rise of sciences in Europe. Do you even know that Safavis, Afshar, Qajar all allied themselves with west for support and later for weapon tech.
Also, had it not been for US pressure, USSR had taken chunks out of NW Iran post WWII. The same US "great satan" was saving Iran. Baathists were kicked on their desert azzes by Shah built Airforce and pilots trained in US, you want me to give names? Whatever victory we had over Baathist was won by Shahi built military. US provided critical weapons even during the war and guess who else saved Tehran from being nuked and provided spare parts for IRIAF attack aircrafts ... I am glad you asked, it was Israel. So Turkish caused famines in Iran, Russia took chunks out of Iran, UK took half of south east but somehow Mullahs managed to choose US and Israel as enemies lol.
Its a turning point, yeah it was painful but the point of a sharply rising of the Iranian identity/civilization.
Falling currency, worst performing economy, no strategic deterence is somehow rise of Iranian identity to you?
West will surely resist against this newly born power. But their dominance is already being challenged here and there and with their extreme focus on middle east, China will undoubtedly leave them behind in every field.
USA is not that free handed when it comes to this region.
Why is US an enemy of Iran? What has US done to Iran before Islamo-marxists took over.
