Russia - Ukraine war part ll. News and Discussions

Footage of strikes by Russian missiles, presumably from a Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system, on temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian units located in the village of Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region. The strike used precision-guided missiles equipped with a GLONASS satellite guidance system. Judging by the video, the Tornado-S missile strikes destroyed buildings.

Tornado is a beast. 300 mm diameter. 120 km range. Ukraine's medium range air defense are sitting ducks for Tornado. Only Patriot long range air defense is out of range of Tornado.

Doubt. Modern day wars are tiny compared to wars of the past. The entire Russian army is probably like 50,000 men and 200 tanks and 100 fighter jets.
Then you know better than Putin.
Putin himself says more than 700,000 Russian troops are fighting in Ukraine.

He exaggerates. Modern soldiers are expensive. 50,000 is already tops.

The Russian war machine has been in overdrive in 2025

when it comes to drones they have sustained over 4,500 Shaheed 136 style drone launches per month or over 50,000 launches in 2025

some say their production capacity is over 10,000 drones per month

they have also averaged 10,000+ monthly launches of unguided bombs fitted with guidance/glide kits (UMPK / FAB-series) per month

with over 110,000 launched in 2025

their ballistic missile launches have been just as impressive with over 150 launches in October and over 800 in the year and same applies to cruise missiles

Hypersonic missiles launches have been close to 100 in 2025 or roughly 10 per month

this is a unbelievable sustained production and attack capability

in total Russia has launched over 155,000 drones, bombs , missiles , hypersonic missiles and cruise missiles in 2025

the total for 2025 was just over 155,000 triple the previous year
the total for 2024 was just over 50,000 double the previous year
the total for 2023 was just over 25,000 triple the previous year
the total for 2022 was just over 7,500

Yet the gains have been minimal. Losses heavy.

RU POV: The "Vostok" force grouping has taken the settlement of Varvarka and cleared the right-bank part of Huliaipole. The compilation also shows strikes on Ukrainian vehicles, drones, and infantry.

I'm almost certain that drone deployments will be well above 90,000 this year, while bomb deployments should be around the stipulated number for drone deployments: something in the range of 50,000.

FAB/UMPK bomb deployments should be around 50-60,000.
Early in the war, initial glide bomb expenditurewas limited. However, this escalated markedly so that by early 2025 Russia was releasing approximately 3,500 UMPK-equipped bombs per month, or over100 per day across the front. These weapons havebeen predominantly used against static targets, overwhelming defences and degrading Ukrainian positions ahead of ground assaults. Russian strikes wereparticularly concentrated along the eastern andsouthern front lines and, increasingly, against urbancentres like Kharkiv and Sumy
Missile deployments (ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic) should be around 2,000 at most.

The rest are drones.

Footage of a Russian FPV drone striking a group of Ukrainian soldiers sheltering in a basement. The video was filmed in the Krasnolimansk direction. Russian forces also intercepted the Ukrainian group's radio communications.

Footage of a combined strike by Russian Geran-2 kamikaze drones and Grom missiles on the Ukrainian bridge in Zatoka, Odesa Oblast. The footage was captured by a local resident using a drone. It's worth noting that this isn't the first strike on this bridge. The bridge's lifting mechanism was also hit. The Russian Grom missile and bomb system was first used in 2023. The video has been edited down.
