Gunman opens fire at crowded Australia beach, people rush for shelter

Yeah, not sure why everyone is making a big fuss out of the assailants nationalities? From Pakistan or Afghanistan - it's clear that these two were settled residents of Australia, as the dad has been identified to have had a gun license for 10+ years, and the son attended high school, at the very least, in Australia (8+ years ago).

It's not as if these were refugees or "tourists" that decided to come and do a terrorist attack - it's literally just "radicalization".

I have met many good Afghanistani Muslims as well. Many who are pro-Pakistani. Not all of them are bad.

They have realized the mistakes of their ancestors.
Not many are good by the way.. Very few are pro Pakistanis, specially where I live in Sydney. They mostly hate Pakistanis.

Even if the father and son were Afghanistani nationals. I am saddened it were Muslims who did the terrorist attack. Horrible.

May they burn in Hell for murder.

Don't forget the hero was a Muslim as well, Ahmed Al Ahmed.
If you direct your guns on women and children or the elderly I honestly can’t even pretend they were Muslim

I don’t think it’s speculating unless all news media have it wrong but again if he’s a dark skinned Honduran who converted to Islam wouldn’t really make a difference so honestly nationality doesn’t matter I did love when they were jumping to the Iran was behind this in Hebrew media it has to be Iran 🇮🇷 🤦
If the son was born in Australia and the father had a refugee status before he was granted nationality, then the only nationality they have is Australian. That's why it hasn't been disclosed yet.. maybe there is no second nationality.

If that's the case, it doesn't matter at all where his grandfather was before the father took refuge in Australia.

Only PTI and Indian sources claiming to be Pakistani national…
Is CBS News an "Indian" or "PTI" source? 🙄
The 24-year-old alleged assailant was identified as Naveed Akram, a Pakistani national, according to U.S. intelligence officials briefed on the investigation. CBS News has also reviewed Akram's New South Wales driver's license.

Not trying to be that guy but can you blame afghans for not having negative feelings toward Pakistan not because they’re against Pakistanis but because Pakistan isi helped bring the rise of the Taliban and very open about it of topic I just had to throw my 2 cents in there

Whatever the reason is.. you can't hate an entire population. Afghans do that.

We should make Afghanistan a province of Pakistan.
And then you have no choice but to bring Imran Khan out of prison to give all those conquered Afghans Pakistani citizenship! Hazrat Asim Munir is truly a genius! 🤭

That's what I am saying..

If the father had a 10 year old gun license, how is it possible that the son went on to get a degree from Hamdard University after completing high school from Australia? In Australia, he could have completed his degree for free (government gives a loan to Australian citizens).

And the refugee status means that the father didn't have a second nationality. Which means that they can't use the origin card now, unless these two assholes visited Pakistan on a regular basis.

Witnesses describe ‘absolute bloodbath’ in Bondi Hanukkah attack

"I saw blood gushing from me. I saw people hit, saw people fall to the ground," said Ostrovsky, “My only concern was, where are my kids? Where are my kids? Where’s my wife, where’s my family?”

Arsen Ostrovsky moved back to Australia from Israel two weeks ago to helm the Sydney office of AIJAC, the Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council.

On Sunday, he was one of scores of people shot during an attack on a Hanukkah celebration at Sydney’s Bondi Beach. At least 11 people were killed, as well as one of the attackers.

Ostrovsky, who grew up in Sydney after leaving the Soviet Union as a child, was injured in the head and treated at the scene.

“It was actually chaos. We didn’t know what was happening, where the gunfire was coming from. I saw blood gushing from me. I saw people hit, saw people fall to the ground,” he told a local news station, his head bandaged with blood visible on his face and clothing. “My only concern was, where are my kids? Where are my kids? Where’s my wife, where’s my family?”

He said he had been briefly separated from his family before finding them safe.

'An absolute bloodbath'

“I saw children falling to the floor, I saw elderly, I saw invalids,” he said. “It was an absolute bloodbath, blood gushing everywhere.”

The attack struck at a centerpiece of Jewish community in Sydney, home to an estimated 40,000 Jews, nearly half of Australia’s total Jewish population. At least 1,000 people had turned up for the beachside celebration on the first night of Hanukkah.

“There were people dead everywhere, young, old, rabbi - they’re all dead,” Vlad, a Jewish chaplain with the State Emergency Service, told a local TV station. “And then two people died while we’re trying to save them, because the ambulance didn’t arrive on time.”

He said the people who died were an elderly woman who had been shot in the leg and an “older gentleman” who was shot in the head.

“It’s not just people, it’s people that I know, people from our community, people that we know well, people that we see often,” said Vlad, who had covered his 8-year-old son with his body during the attack. “My rabbi is dead.”

The rabbi who was killed, Eli Schlanger, moved to Bondi Beach as an emissary of the Chabad movement 18 years ago. He was the father of five children, including a son born two months ago.

“He wasn’t some distant figure. He was the guy staying up late planning the logistics for a Menorah lighting that most people will take for granted. The one stressing about the weather. The one making sure there were enough latkes and the kids weren’t bored,” wrote Eliezer Tewel, another Chabad emissary, on social media.

“He was just doing his job. Showing up. Being the constant, reliable presence for his community,” Tewel added. “And that’s where the gut punch lands: He was killed while doing the most basic, kindest, most normal part of our lives. It wasn’t a battlefield. It was a Hanukkah party.”

@Muji.Iqbal

Look at PTI supporters mostly living in west trying hard to put blame on Pakistan so that Pakistanis will suffer just like their leader who wrote IMF not to give loan so that common Pakistani suffer, this the mentality if we are not in power rest should die.

So our attitude towards them should like the same, they should stop barking or get ready to die.
Chanda, PTI supporters living in the west will try to blame Pakistan to get the burnt of the local population? That's some really strong stuff tbh.

The fact of the matter is that the origin and nationality hasn't been revealed yet by the New South Wales police. There could be an issue of NO SECOND NATIONALITY due to REFUGEE STATUS prior to obtaining Australian nationality.

Things are not that simple.
