It is quite a leap from a being a successful cricket Captain to a prolific fundraiser for cancer care hospitals to being a PM with caliph dreams on top.
IK's previous efforts and their successes are undeniable, but they are by no means a bar to recognizing all his disastrous failures as PM.
Looking at only one or the other aspect is misleading.
Some of the basic flaws in Imran's supporters is that because he was/is personally not corrupt, he wouldn't surround himself with the corrupt ones--which he indeed did. Also, that he did charity decades ago means he would do the wonders as the leader of a complex nation like Pakistan--and he miserably failed in that role despite the huge advantages given to him.
To this day, there is not even one convincing argument as to why Imran lost power in 2022. Not one except, IMO, Bajwa decided for whatever reasons to not support Imran anymore and so those coerced allies of Imran decided to dump Imran--ask the MQM leaders about that! Otherwise, Imran never challenged America until his last few weeks and that was part of a calculated strategy just as he was losing power. He never challenged 'the Establishment' until he was already ousted by the Vote of No Confidence--on the contrary, he was trying to work with Bajwa and Faiz, to each others' mutual benefit. Everything related to Imran's downfall points toward hubris, arrogance, and multiple stupid decisions which continue unabated.
But such a pity that such an intellectual dwarf has convinced so many highly educated people who simply refuse to dig up the events between Oct. 2021 and April 2022 to see what really happened. But then none are more blind then those who refuse to see.
