then how can we draw lessons? Doesn't the Quran mention examples of Nabis, nations, etc so that general Muslims can draw some lessons from it? The same goes for the Karbala incident.

Pakistani people generally do not live in a coherent society. Our politics is based on clan and region. Therefore, there is no clear national cause which can move people from their homes (except religious movements).

However, don't worry. Not only public, but our judiciary, lawyers, police, and even the army is coward. The servicemen will obey all illegal orders of General Dyer to kill their own countrymen without flinching. No amount of rationality, patriotism and sense can prevent them from following illegal and immoral orders.
