This and the closure of the strait should be communicated in a letter or through a 3rd parties to the US....only they can muzzle the rabid dog that is Israel.....without the US they won't last 1 month. I think iran needs to make sure they know they're playing with fire.....also, that Iran is willing to go all out.....this includes SA oil fields, Kuwait, UAE......no oil or gas shipment through the strait for at least a year, if not more.....once they do the math they will come to their senses. Either way, they're trying to turn us into a defenseless country....again, i trust iranian strategists know how to solve for this puzzle. I don't want to talk mindlessly about a war that could potentially destroy or engulf the entire middle east. But some calculations need to be made, what is the enemy going to do? Will they stop short of completely destroying our country? Once those calculations are made, the answers will be clear.
History has taught us about Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya...etc

We are not allowed to use nuclear weapons and it has religious reasons.

Cold war experts have been there and done it for you decades back. ICBM is for nuclear strike and has no other purpose because of cost/target value reasons. Nobody is foolish enough to waste two missile stages and an MaRV on delivering a meaningless 1000 lbs conventional warhead some 5000-6000 KM away. Strategic bombers, attack aircrafts were created to cover for that. Even for MRBM ranges an Air-superiority fighter can cause the damage of 5-6 Ballistic missiles in single sortie.
