Akshually, I think you have it backwards and we do have options and that might be EXACTLY the reason PFX has little chance of succeeding. I always like to compare to the nuclear program so in that area there literally was no option. But here we can buy F-16s, J-10s, J-35s, Kaan - so several options. I've said this before many many times - PAF is a fighting force first, and a defense contractor a distant second. This is the reason it does not have the appetite to do long development programs like TAI or DRDO - it wants results in 2 years, otherwise it loses interests, decides its money is better spent buying externally and kills the program.

In any case, Pakistan now has a very favorable diplomatic environment, and the pressure from India has become insignificant. Pakistan has time to consider the future development of its military, which is good news for the country.

PL15 integration on the Block 1/2 variants "if true", would be fantastic news as that brings another 130 odd PL15 carriers to the equation. It would mean, whatever "dance" the IAF may want to do by trying to obfuscate the location of the Rafale to create a capability hole in the PAF would be negated by this as there will be no need to match the Rafale with a JF17C or J10CE, any JF17 can match it in a BVR fight.

not very,

lots of these PAF officers, post retirement talk very questionable things. They still have bills to pay, just no job. Nothing pays the bills like, frankly, nonsense clickbait.

That is provided their Rafales actually get operationalized with Meteors...........and even then the true full range performance of Meteor would be questionable......for PL-15s, the amount PAF fired, would mean PAF knows the true capability of the missile and improve it further with actual, combat test results......not like some shooting a drone.

Without Meteors, Rafales have less than 1% chance of scoring any kill against PL15 equipped fighters.

I don't think blk 1 will be included in those upgrades... just block 2 can be upgraded.

Don't know about an hour but we can update all codes, though it may take more time... not exactly sure about the time it took but we did it for Azerbaijan to integrate Turkish weapons on Thunder.
