Just open up the visa, we will send a few plane loads everyday.. but the western countries insist they only want the 'highly' skilled ones

The definition of “highly skilled” is getting narrower and no longer favours Indians.

U.K. won’t be importing any Indian doctors and companies like mine are no longer issuing even short term visas to Indians.

We used to hire people on two year visas and 99% would automatically get renewed. In the last 18 months we haven’t renewed a single one.

That’s just facts.

I have nothing against Indians and have consistently shown my affection for them here.

Visa tightening is probably true but that’s because the UK economy is barely growing. When growth stalls, governments raise the bars to cut numbers. That hits mid level roles first, not Indians as a group.

The real question isn’t how many Indians are hired in absolute numbers, but whether the Indian share of foreigners hired has actually changed.

But give me an honest answer. Don't you think if UK wants to have a lot of blue collar workers, a larger Muslim immigrant population (from the subcontinent mainly) would be more problematic?

Demand for Shariah compliance
Constant interference in UK's foreign policy.
Getting involved in jihadi outfits.

By contrast Hindu/Xtian immigrants, especially from the South, Orissa etc maybe less of troublemakers
