The discussion around the legitimacy and morality of using the atomic bomb against Japan has been debated enough in other threads. It was that or the war would continue for at least two more years.

It can only be saddening, not surprising at such views, while at the same time highlighting the importance of free communication to help improve understanding of different points of view.

To be fair, regarding USA as "a thieving scum of a nation" is just as wrong as portraying it as "something to look up to". It is just another country, in a world full of countries. No one country is perfect, and they all do whatever possible to further their own national interests, without exception: USA, EU, Russia, China, Israel, Iran ... ... They ALL do it.

On topic, Maduro obviously was doing what he felt were the right policies to follow. Like many who found out the hard way, prolonged economic distress can lead a whole nation into supporting desperate acts that might appear to be attractive solutions, but are not in the long term. Outside forces are only too happy to oblige, as this event shows.

Not to go off topic, but in this are important lessons for both Iran and Pakistan, with failing economies, an increasingly desperate people and enemies outside just waiting to pounce.

Regrettably, China indeed has no ability to save Maduro. Even the think tanks in China until the day before yesterday still believed that the US would not invasion Venezuela. Trump is an unconventional man. Or, put another way, the world order is collapsing faster than the Chinese anticipated.

No of course not. It just happens I speak multiple languages. It was reported China halts imports from Thailand.
