Russia has been strategically defeated across the board. Syria and Venezuela are now towing the American line, and Iran and its proxies are the weakest they’ve been in decades. NATO has further expanded.

Russia is utterly weak. They’ve lost 1.2M dead and wounded, tens of thousands of equipment losses, and lost the Battle of the Black Sea. An this is with no end in sight. Their economy is sanctioned and growing at 0.5%, and that’s only due to war production. They’re looking at long term recession after the war.

The US has been stacking strategic victories all at the expense of Russia. Russia is completely bogged down in eastern Ukraine and we’re almost in Year 5 of the war. Again, you’re too focused on land they annexed at the beginning of the war instead of the broader strategic outcomes of the war. Russia has been strategically defeated and are undoubtedly in a weaker position today than prior to the war.

Even today, if they wanted to occupy more Ukrainian territory, it's not impossible for Russia but they fairly happy testing their weapons on Ukraine and turning it into rubble or no man's land.

Why not continue with this great strategy of spending another $66 billion to weaken Russia even more? Got cold feet?

... An Kyiv was not a distraction. The Russians got destroyed at Hostomel and subsequently defeated at Kyiv and forced to retreat. They attempted a similar operation to the US in Caracas, but failed. The main goal of Russia was overthrowing Z, gaining military control over Kyiv, and the rapid defeat of Ukraines military. They failed miserably.

The age of self propelled gun is over. This war has shown modern day cheap toy drones easily kill expensive self propelled guns. The only survivable artillery in modern warfare is long range MRLS such as Tornado, Iskander, HIMARS, ATACMS.

Not propaganda, it’s the truth. Russia has been strategically defeated. Their global strategic position is far weaker today than prior to the war. They’re completely bogged down in eastern Ukraine, and we’re entering year 5 of the war. They’re taking defeat after defeat across the world. Their economy is sanctioned and headed for long term recession post war.

Imagine the US military invading Mexico, taking 20% of Mexican territory, but then getting destroyed at Mexico City, then getting bogged down for 4 years with 1.2M dead and wounded. Then getting so bogged down we lose multiple allies as a result.

Russia has failed and more and more Russians are realizing it.

The Russians were destroyed at Kyiv and forced to retreat. You may not remember all the dead VDV on the streets of Kyiv, but I do.

That August meeting was only an attempt to get the Russians to the table. Now you have the Trump admin sanctioning Russian oil companies, seizing their tankers, and the CIA providing Russian oil refinery targets to the Ukrainians.

Russia is taking L’s across the board.

A Russian S-300 surface-to-air missile system (SAM) successfully destroyed a Ukrainian F-16 fighter jet, firing two missiles at the target.

"The most interesting [target we managed to destroy] was the F-16. <…> Not with the first shot, but with two missiles. So, we cut it down with the first, and then finished it off with the second," the serviceman said.
According to him, the unit equipped with the latest S-300 system demonstrated high effectiveness in destroying a variety of aerial targets, including unmanned aerial vehicles, ATACMS missiles, HIMARS rockets, and guided air bombs.
