An average poster here does not understand how badly bruised Jew ego is after their US run multidomain and layered ABM and AD was turned into a mess by IRGCASF for 12 days straight last time. They want the threat gone because thats how their doctrine works. They would rather have IRIAF have useless squadrons of SU-35, J-10CE or even SU-57 in future because parked fighters in FABs are easy to tackle through sanctions, ALBMs, ALCMs/SOWS, internal terrorism compared to thousands of hypersonic missiles landing on your head.

Related fact. Israeli Air defence and ABM shield uses US sats and ground sensors spread across middle east for real time search n track data reception and is layered with HIMADS, SHORADS yet they have failed to shoot down a single Fattah and Kheybar Shikan Hypersonic/Skip glide missiles ... all throughout 12 days despite being fired in numbers. Fattah and KS are product of 2010s IRGCASF btw. Israelis will want IRGCASF shut down completely.

Attack will happen everyone knows it from day 1 of protests. Its about threat to $ and oil supply to china. What matters is, will it be

(A) Cosmetic harmless BS with inner parties inside Iran being part of theatrics ? Two largest power factions want Khamenei gone and country changed. Trump taking out Ayatollahs will allow them to grab power.

(B) Actual damage to Oil infrastructure which will imply a regional war ?

If Iran knows strikes are incoming then then they should take pre-emptive action.

It's a tough spot they're in, it will only mean they come at them even harder. It could be at a scale of shock and awe of Baghdad.

If only Iran had an airforce, they could have covered off the carriers and aeriel threats atleast and fend off the first few waves.

Iran should make sure that its reply this time is a proper reply that costs the Americans significantly. Maybe destroy Al Udeid, ie make it non operational so that there is nothing to return to ?

Every single post 2020 conflict or war had Air defence, ABM shields, IADS failed miserably against incoming missile salvos because attacking projectiles have gone more advanced than air defense tech.

Even if we had 500 x SU-35S, a hyper military power like US will destroy them all in their bases. Loss of hundreds of billions of USD and morale. Our best bet against such an adversary is missile power to make the cost of the conflict politically unbearable for them and nothing else. In an actual war against US/NATO, any country on earth except may be china (big may be) will lose their entire naval surface fleets, air bases, command HQs, air defences etc.

Option A is seeming more likely. I am leaving this post here. It will be cosmetic BS exchange once again. IRGCASF and USAF should sign a joint war movie production contract.
