Vietnam Defense and News forum

VinFast already ditched their entire gasoline lineup. And on semiconductors, even within SEA, Singapore shut down its own fab back in the 2000s, and Malaysia, with far more experience and a deeper industrial base than Vietnam, still hasn't seriously gone down the path of building their own domestic fab.

So I don't see any guarantee Viettel can LEGALLY move past 32nm, given how export controls and tool access actually work. And if you're stuck at 32nm, "competing" is basically a knife fight in a mature-node, commodity-priced market that only makes sense if you don't care at all about profits or running costs.
Then you are smarter than Viettel, the army and the gov combined.

VinFast basically burned billion dollars on an old BMW engine line that didn't give them any real competitive edge, then followed it up with a string of other questionable decisions, especially with the US market push. So… what's your point?

Hyundai and VinFast started building their plants around the same time, but VinFast was never serious about actually establishing a real manufacturing presence in the US. Vietnam has no leverage to demand anything from the US.

Is the man getting poorer or richer?
Last time I checked he becomes richer than ever.

Being "richer on paper" means nothing. How much of that actually converts into real, usable wealth? And honestly, you have got to be kidding if you genuinely think it works the way you're implying. You keep posting this stuff about Vingroup "setting up companies left and right", but have you ever looked at how those entities were actually created, funded, and structured?

I post news, I comment on news. My personal view. Nothing else. I am not here to do what other people tell me to do.
I never claim I am smarter than Vingroup.
If you believe you are smarter than the richest man then be it.

Again, no one's saying or cares whether you're smarter than a corporation. Stop glazing them and treating them like a god.

Nice try dodging again. If you can't even own your own posts about their US plant, then why do you keep glazing them then?

I think not realistic. Possibly Vietnam will buy from China, BUT there are political concerns AND
can SMEE deliver? Will Ccp allow it?
Considering COMAC struggles to produce aircraft. very doubtful SMEE can deliver lithography to other countries.

COMAC was naive for using the Leap-1C30 as its primary engine for certificate exchange from the US/Europe.

The US has pretty much cut off the supply of the Leap-1C30, and COMAC is now integrating the CJ-1000 into the C919.

That's why the C929 will only choose the CJ-2000 as its primary engine, not relying on any non-Chinese engine.

Why the DUV has become fully mature, China can produce as many units as it wants.

In the meantime, both ASML and Nikon/Canon are both subjugated to the rare earth restriction.

You should worry about both Netherlands and Japan than worrying about China.

Ah nonsense
I make comments, you make comments.
That’s all. relax.

Bullshit, I have read enough of your posts glazing stupid decisions. If you didn't have that ignorant glazing attitude, then why were you questioning me earlier in the first place?

What you mean with stupid? Viettel making fabs is stupid decision?

Why don’t you just say what’s stupid in your opinion? I glaze what I want to. Why bothers you?
You clearly bother about what people think, so why wouldn't I bother about what you think?

Let us stop here. It begins to become ridiculous. You keep your opinion, I mine.

where I worried about China?
In my opinion it makes sense that Comac copied Airbus 320 and engines to make own planes. Everyone copies from everyone. Nothing special about it. I don’t understand why people are surprised. The challenge is just if you can make a good copy and make a better version.
