You CAN bring a gun to the protest, as Kyle Rittenhouse did, and he went further, bringing a gun to a protest and a raid is NOT illegal.

If the firearms the agent in grey coat was holding was Pretti's, then this is a bad shoot, regardless how you think it's stupid to bring a firearms to protest, when I was a cop, some people have open carry a rifle in front of me and do 2A audit, you are allowed to do that, and many American think that's their right, to a point they WILL do that in front of LEO and exercise their right.

The father abandoned the child when ICE went to apprehend him (the father). The also tried to return custody of the child to the mother. She refused to take him in.
