I believe this issue could have been handled much better. Recent political turmoil has caused most of the problems. No sane cricket fan is happy that Bangladesh is out of the World Cup, but the situation turned into political drama rather than a cricketing issue.

Whether one agrees or not, the IPL is a domestic league, and what happened with Bangladeshi cricketer - while what happened here was clearly political. However If Bangladesh had a stable government, the situation might have been different. With elections going on and strong anti-India sentiment, cricket has suffered badly and the matter was taken too far.

Pakistan is trying to gain public attention. They cannot directly challenge the ICC or BCCI, so until 15 February they will continue making statements for domestic popularity. In reality, they will not take any bold decisions like Bangladesh did.

Bangladesh may lose some participation fees, but it will not be heavily affected overall. However, if PCB attempts any aggressive move, it is likely to face strict punishment.

I see only political drama is doing by pcb head, since he is a politician and to get much popularity and domestic attentions-- drama will be continued until india and Pakistan match on 15th Feb.

So basically....Bangladesh (and Pakistan) have done all the bad political drama and should be punished for it, while India has done political drama also, which started the whole episode, but should not be punished. In fact, everyone else needs to accept Indian political drama.

Wrong thread but India still imports 1.1 million bpd from Russia. At peak India imported 2 million bpd from Russia in mid 2025.

After American talks the import fell by 100k bpd (1.2 million in December to 1.1 million in January).

Nobody minds a gradual shift. It was a price conscious decision anyways. Also with shifting geopolitics it might not even matter after a while.

Peak duration of import was between 2023-2025.

Pakistan themselves planned 100k bpd import during 2023-24 but you had problems due to lack of infrastructure to process Russian heavy oil.

exctly, countries act in their own interest, if Pak wants to have good relations with US on a short term basis it will, just like India can balance its relations. In fact I would go so far to say that India is desperate to get back into US good books and Pakistan has done a much better job of diplomacy as of late.

Of course your default setting will be to deny this, you simply cannot concede to Pakistan doing well on anything. I get that. Its ingrained in you

Long winded way of saying you bowed down, so really rich of you to accuse Pakistan of the same when Pakistan has given no such concessions to the US, in fact, Pakistan attracting more US investment.

Again, imagine it is hard for you to concede anything positive to Pakistan, Your psyche will not allow it
