I am finally getting ready to post some pics/updates soon.
PS. It is -12 C / 11 F outside my house right now. By far, the coldest this winter I have observed at our house but I had seen 5 F in a past winter.

A rare time I wished I were in FL right now! But can't leave this challenging homestead to the elements and thus I am starting to regret building a wonderfully peaceful but also a woefully challenging house where it is located.

Our high today will be around 10F. The lows are negative for the rest of the week. The windchills are unmentionable.

Yes, there is truth in that!! I prefer cold weather but as of yesterday, I am limping because of a sprained knee from all the yard activities due to the storm. Need to grow my character to the 'oodles' limit!
Speaking of cold climate, I remember many years ago read a book, something like 'The Wealth and Poverty of Nations' which attributed Europe's success to its colder climate.

15°F this morning. A heat wave!

Back down to zero tonight. Oh, well.

Heard that in upstate NY, you get entire lakes/streams/creeks get frozen and sometimes it more cooler than Alaska? Is it true?

During my search for a land with creek recently, bring me to upstate NY, although i found some land within range but a friend who came from Rochester said don't lol the areas in countryside of Upstate NY is brutally cold and what you plan to do will not work, hence I stayed in and around TN/NC/SC/VA.
Its insane how cold can be so brutal, can't imagine how people operate in that, here at 36F I don't want to leave house to do anything.
