Question to Iranians: Will Khamenei exit his role as the Supreme Leader of Iran lead to significant changes in Iran's foreign and/or domestic politics? I ask because sometimes only one man becomes an 'institution' in himself and the others around him just 'follow the orders'.
We overrate the virtues of 'democracy': In the end, it is only half a dozen people or even just one person calling the shots on critical matters, in crunch situations, even if the leadership can be changed through the elections some years down the road.
The Iranian government is an ideology that was created from the seminaries of Qom and Najaf.

Individuals are just replaceable pieces. The root of the problem with America and Israel is the ideological struggle with the warmonger infidels and colonizers of Islamic countries, and it cannot be changed.

China in June 2025: Iran do not close the straits of Hormuz. It would be bad for Chinese making 50 cents.

China in January 2026: US don't do regime change, not because a new regime would be bad for china, no china does not want destabilization. China wants to make money.

Russia to Iran: dont worry Iran we are killing whitey in Ukraine to defend Iran from Anglo-Saxons. Putin likes farage, le pen, trump and the other masonic zionists. Russia is defeating trump enemy in Ukraine - zelensky. pompeo and trumpstein supported Putin in February 2022, trumpstein far more.

There is the UNSC for you. Traitors and back stabbers.
Xijinping president has previously expounded on China's foreign policy, stating that China will do its best to prevent the world from falling into a new Cold War.
China cannot support every anti-American country like the Soviet Union did. Take Iran as an example. If China were to support Iran, it would cost trillions of dollars, but China cannot earn trillions of dollars in foreign exchange from trade with Iran. This is a losing proposition for China.

They are trying bending knee of saudis really hard this time. Without gulf countries Iran is not in hopeless position against jews and their usa slaves, on the contrary.

People give too much credit to 'democracy' and to 'checks and balances' blah blah in general. Ten years ago, against the staunch opposition from the Saudis and the Israelis, the Obama admin worked hard to formulate the JCPOA arrangement with Iran and then came Trump and he ripped that apart--undoing years of hard work. And now the same Saudis are trying very hard to avoid a war against Iran. What a turn around in just ten years!

As I said just above: It is usually just a few people sitting at the top calling the shots regardless of 'democracy' or 'authoritarianism' and even among them often it is just one person and his very personal biases. The clown show of 'global leadership' on display at the recent WEF in Davos should be an eye opener about how low the 'leaders' have sunk to. Damn Global Clowns!

I bet on a glass of beer. Trump will definitely attack Iran. The current peace talks are no different from the negotiations between the Soviet Union and Germany in 1941.

If China helps noone, then it will be alone when the West finally comes for it. The attacks on Venezuela and Iran are part of choking off China energy supply and using energy long term as a weapon.

China is already big enough and strong enough that it can take on the rest of the world all by itself if it comes to that.

The Soviet Union once supported many anti-American countries. However, these countries not only failed to offer any assistance to the security of the Soviet Union, but also caused the Soviet Union to spend a large amount of foreign currency. This was a very important reason for the ultimate failure of the Soviet Union.
China will learn from the lessons of the Soviet Union.
The main sources of China's oil imports are Russia, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Iraq, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Indonesia and other countries. Many of these countries are allies of the United States.Supporting Iran will not significantly contribute to China's oil security. And it will also harm the relationship between China and the Arab world, and affect China's stable acquisition of oil from Arab countries.

Bolded part: If what you say is right, then Iranians will do fine in the long run no matter what they face in the short run, short of nukes dropping on them, which will not drop on them.

Oversimplified perspective. Too many generalisations here, especially the highlighted part. I doubt Arabs are particularly "offended" by the pro-Iran stance of anyone else.

It is only really Indians who believe in this reductionist version of realpolitik, whereby for example, if Azerbaijan says something nice about Pakistan then a 5000 year curse must be leveraged on Baku by "supporting" Armenia.

I don't think Beijing follows such crude generalisations. Beijing must certainly do what is in its interests though.

China already gives the best help to Venezuela. Venezuela didn't collapse, stands on its own, still the Chávezian government, since the USA doesn't want the risk of boots on the ground.

You think any country wants to fight USA, in Latin America?
I consider the current situation a success for Venezuela and China.

He is a Chinese, presenting you the Chinese POV

The proper lesson to learn is that being timid and backing down from US escalation leads to a slow and inevitable encirclement. All those oil sources you mentioned other than Russia will bend to US pressure when the time comes, and if they don't, simply have a color revolution and replace them with someone who will. Even Russia will bend if it's offered reintegration into Europe.

There isn't much China can do for Iran anyways at this point but China will be slowly choked out just like the Soviet Union was. It takes less effort to destroy than it does to create.
