But yes, USN SSN/SSGN/SSBN are FAAAR more capable than Chinese ones.

What China may or maynot realize is that once Europe and West Asia have been taken care of....East Asia is next.

I have not seen any assistance from Iran in the Russian military forum, and of course I will not believe Russia's unilateral statement. As for what the agreement between you is, including whether it includes sending troops to support, I do not think I can investigate.
As for the large amount of aid you said, I will remain silent, and it would be nice if the Russians came out to clarify.

China is willing to help, but China is coward for not directly fighting the US to protect Iran.

Both Iran and VZ are not China's allies either formally or informally, why should China fight directly militarily against the superpower US for their sake ? the security of these two countries basically don't affect China's national security. The only foreign country if invaded by US that China will definitely send troops to fight the war is North Korea, a formal ally of China bound by treaty, NK is really critical for China's national security. Both Russia and Pakistan are China's informal allies, if invaded, China might get involved militarily to help them fight too as these two also concerns China's security.

Question is why did they seemingly abandon that strategy to go for soft targets for PR shock value? Is due to cadence drop from 200 down to 50 missiles down to 20 missile salvos? Because Israel retaliated against Iranian airforce targets?

If they would have been able to replicate this success across the bases at the very least they would have destroyed dozens of aircraft that were refueling and reloading and brought the sortie count down. Obviously no one is expecting complete elimination of sorties or airbases.
