USA Weather Alert and Warnings Thread

next week here is a bit of more seasonal winter temps........but it seems to be bringing more Arctic cold brutality in mid-February.......man this winter is hard and brutal with the temps and the cold wind chill

the "feels like" is the real deal......it can be -13 but with wind chill feels like -25
that is dangerous for everything for us humans

You're located in the Toronto area?

June/July/August/September is the best time to come, for full enjoyment.
Oh I've been there at least a dozen times over the years. Mostly in the winter than the summer.

Any trips now would be voluntary. Not work-related.

This was how I got the concrete plant in the Foothills of the Smoky Mountains up and running when everything was iced over.

I have the blow torch and actually used that two years ago to kill the nasty foliage trying to break through the new asphalt pavement. But it is literally like a 'nuclear option' for me to use against some stubborn ice on the front pavers.

I don't know why immigrants flock to the cities like Toronto, Dallas, Chicago, NYC... too hot summer and too cold winters. I guess $$ and your own 'culture' is everything in life.

It will be ok, unless you are roasting the pavers.

After futile attempt to make the ice on the pavers melt, I thought of using the blow torch but decided against that. As I said, I have dug a path on the grass next to the front steps to get out of the house.
I don't believe in killing mosquito with hammer. It will melt, it shall pass.

Two words: economic opportunities.

Of course. Everyone knows that. But when my distant relatives in Houston complain about the heat there worse than even Karachi...
There is always a middle ground, especially in a large country like America, even if you can't afford San Diego or Los Angeles, which I can't myself. Immigrants, unless they have to 'support' someone, are some ghetto, unimaginative people!
