H-1B visas must end’: Wife of US citizen shares plight of landing IT jobs

You like circular logic, don't you? I have said a 1000 times that America can and should end it. But you keep repeating same thing! So I will ask again? Just whose burden is it to end H1B!

Second, you keep insisting that India abused it and this is what you want to discuss page after page. But this is NOT what Americans are saying. According to them, H1B is foul altogether. So Indians monopolizing it means nothing to do them in the end. They hate a pakistani or Irani or a Brazilian H1B holder equally. It is American businesses and congress that allowed so many visas. They deserve the blame.

In your world, Americans would be lining up to cheer all the non-Indian H1B people? That is what you have been implying again and again?

The "actual problem" raised by Americans has a simple solution. Ask US congress to abolish H1B! If you were living in US, you could have written to them! Here, 150 pages later, you are still discussing. I feel like you are not giving it your all.
Well I can't do much with you.

You remain in the denial stage.

H1b demolished, is on the basis that it is monopolised by Indians, that is the logic

There are ample statements from American officials, even mention brahmins from an American government official

Prior to trump, it was a common boast that Indians dominated these visas

Now you want to deny all association.
Not much I can do with you

@clutch

I wonder if these Indian came to America on a H1B visa...

No. Most likely they are illegal immigrants like you.

Regards

Yes, this is exactly the reason, concluded after 160 pages. If Chinese, Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, Irani etc were sending thousands of their people and replacing local engineers, no one will bat an eye! So much to learn!

Ok, no idea what this means.

Americans are discriminating?

Well they feel discriminated against.

This is your actual problem.
Not this thread.

@r3alist bro

There is no question that Americans are losing out on job opportunities and are hurting about it. The question is can they do anything about it? Can the employers of the H1B Hindoo be persuaded/bullied into employing white Americans at higher wage rates (adjusted for productivity).

Regards

I live in India. I went to US on F-1 visa, worked on H1B visa, got my green card and then left it all behind. You clearly don't know my problems. H1B was always "discriminatory". It was always used to reduce cost for companies while maintaining performance. America is a capitalist country afterall. Capitalism has a way of runing lives of many. As automation and AI is doing right now. Perhaps in future Americans will unite against AI!

You raise a good point, it might be the 100th time you raised it, but I think it's still close to the crux.

Long may you continue to raise it.

Therefore the Indians are navigating between pleasing the ones who employ you, and battling everyone else.

You don't see many maga Indians these days, caps back in the closet.

The young students, once enrolled in American institutions on student visas, became key players in elaborate scams that exploited elderly Americans and siphoned off millions of dollars through fear, deception, and impersonation.

Kishan Rajeshkumar Patel, 20, who arrived in the United States on a student visa, was sentenced this week to 63 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Authorities shut down 3 illegal call centers tied to gold bar scam

Last year, ABC News interviewed a suspected courier from jail as he faced charges in two states for his alleged involvement in the scam. He claimed he was hired by an individual in India and paid between $800 and $4,000 per job to pick up packages, some of which contained gold bars.

John McCarthy, the Maryland state attorney for Montgomery County, announced Monday that his office had indicted 10 couriers accused of collecting money from victims, and said that several of those cases have already resulted in convictions.

"They're targeting people who have retirement money, who have pensions, who have investments, who've maybe sold their homes and have that money in reserve," McCarthy said.

Texas Authorities Bust Elaborate $55 million Gold Scam Preying on Elderly, Seize Millions in Raids

During the raids, two individuals were arrested at the Irving location and one at the Frisco store. Among those linked to the broader case is Radhakrishna Yerramneni, a 46-year-old man of Telugu origin, who was arrested on October 23 last, and booked with two counts of ‘engaging in organized criminal activity’ and one count of ‘financial abuse of elderly’. Radhakrishna had been charged with $2 million each as a bail amount, totaling $4 million (more than `36.75 crore) for his final bail. He faces charges including engaging in organized criminal activity and financial exploitation of the elderly. Additional arrests include Pranjal Jigneshkumar Patel, Simarjeet Singh Gill, Satish Amrutlal Kumar Patel, and Arpit Desai. Some cases are currently before a grand jury, while others are being reviewed under organized crime statutes.

Authorities estimate that in Collin County alone, more than 200 seniors lost over $7 million, with some individual victims losing more than $1 million from personal savings accounts. Statewide losses are believed to exceed $55 million. Officials noted that crimes involving elderly victims are often underreported because many seniors feel fear, shame, or confusion, which can delay investigations.

SBA cuts off non-US citizens from primary loan program

The Small Business Administration on Monday issued new policy guidance requiring 100 percent of all owners of a small business applying for the agency’s primary 7(a) loan program to be U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals with their principal residences within the U.S.

The policy, which would be effective March 1, rescinds the previous policy issued in December that allowed a 7(a) loan borrower to have up to 5 percent of the business’ ownership held by a foreign national, green card holder or a U.S. national or citizen living outside of the U.S. Now, green card holders who have permanent U.S. residency will no longer be able to own any part of a business applying for the popular small business government loan program.

This is going to hurt more than H1B 100K fee or H4 renewal.
