India - US Tariff and Relations | News + Updates

You are still in the la la land that you were, for most part of this thread. Just go back a few pages and read the kind of claims that you made. Any person with even a little ghairat would die of shame.
So, I suggest that you leave it here and don’t tax your brain too much.
$500 bn by 3030 is like $60bn per year, and that is just trump's claims

I said India will eventually surrender and accept Trump terms and it happened exactly like I predicted. Go back to any of my old posts.

I give you 0 marks for accuracy but 200 % for persistence and not giving up.
You are made for things bigger than my calibre. Keep it up.

He maybe 200% on those things but YOU are 1000% on those things.
You will see even Indian analysts will call this coerced concessions. But I don't blame India one bit: Trump is doing such 'deals' all the time and countries just have to ride it out until he leaves power. Until then, do what you got to do!

Trump is simple men. He see trade deficit of $40-50bn with India and ask her to reduce it to almost 0. Thats how $500bn by 2030 figure came about.

The one way to get around that is export less to USA.

Drag it out, hope Trump losses' midterms and democrat candidate win in 2028. If India reduces trade deficit to almost 0 by 2028 then it will be difficult to change gears even if democrats win.

That’s why he is an Ex.

If he was good enough, he would have been there when the deal was signed.

I read many posts on this thread, by many self acclaimed financial and geopolitical experts and I realise, how myopic and delusional they were in assessing the whole situation.

Many of them resorted to finding anti-India rants on social media and tried to sell it off as truth. It was nothing but confirmation bias and wishful thinking.

Very few people were able to take a balanced view of the situation and analyse it objectively.

This brings to end one more episode where some people started celebrating a little too early and finished all the crackers before the finish line. Once again.
The answer the questions in my post below are still, awayed by your geo-political and economics expert team members.

Post in thread 'Trump says India will buy oil from Venezuela instead of Iran'

No, he is right. Reuters is also saying India will have to buy $500 billion. And I believe the reason it took this long for this trade deal is Indians resisted the American demands for a long time--something admirable, I should say-- but eventually gave some concessions. Don't believe me or David Oulalalalalalalo-- you will see Indian analysts themselves dissecting this deal.
But, on the whole, I believe the deal is not 'bad' for India. It was just an inevitable compromise.
That’s why it is a deal. Where you negotiate and come to terms acceptable to both the sides.

And the contention with the US wasn’t this but farm sector and that has been secured by India.

The issue with many posters like @hydrabadi Arab are clutching on to the straws and not able to accept the bigger picture here. Scouring the social media to find something that can make this deal look bad.

As far as trade goes, let US exporters find stuff that is competitive in Indian market and export more than 50 billion per year. The deal allows them a fair ground and no barriers. This excludes farm sector.
