Even getting SU-35 in any meaningful numbers would be a massive shift in Russian ideological thinking towards Iran.

Don’t forget that Putin offered S-500 and SU-57 to Turkey. Why? Because Putin is desperate to pull Turkey out of NATO and into Russian sphere of influence. Iran has no such value for Russian calculations. Hence why we get nothing.

Algeria is a banana country that doesn’t have strategic value for Israel or West and hence Russia could sell everything under the sun to Algeria and the West doesn’t care.

U.S. has nuclear weapons stored in Turkey and a couple airbases. Surely one more base further away in Iran isn’t a big deal when it also has bases in Iraq, Jordan, Syria, etc.

But Turkey has some western NATO countries before reaching their frontier, and even worse, they have in the middle Crimea that have deployed the best russian SAM systems, something that they don´t have in Caspian Sea.

Turkey/USA can fly straight over Armenia and Georgia (little to no air defenses in these countries) and enter Russia.

You wouldn’t even need to cross the Black Sea unless you are setting a beachhead for a land invasion.

As I said, in Putin’s eyes they can live with a fallen Western orbit Iran, they lived with it throughout the 1900’s during Reza Shah and his son. If anything the Islamic republic was a blimp of time…an anomaly. Russia and Iran are not friends and never were friends. Iran is a conservative country. Iranians are God-fearing people who put great stock in Family and Country. Today's Jewish-dominated West of Porn, OnlyFans, and promiscuity is morally bankrupt like the Weimar Republic.

I would say that Today's Iran has much more in common with Christian Russia and Russians than the West.
We have to stop looking into the past. What happened 200,300, and 1500 years ago reflects what is happening today.

Iranians are already on the extreme end of materialism and individualism. 2 and 4 are slowly happening over time with increasing divorce rates and less stigma against pre-marital relationships.
