Yup, everything was a disaster but let's give ourselves a pat on the back for the way we handled it.The official report, released in October, cut a section from the initial version exposing the LAFD’s choice not to fully staff or pre-deploy all available crews despite forecasts of catastrophic winds because it didn’t align with city policy, the outlet reported.
It instead commended department brass for going “above and beyond” with a standard “pre-deployment matrix,” despite the fire leveling over 16,000 homes and structures, causing $150 billion in damages, and killing 12 people.

That's unfortunate. Massie is one of the good guys. Trump should be getting him on board.Trump goes after ‘moron’ Massie at National Prayer Breakfast
It was one of my favorites in the 1990s. I used to even watch some committee and subcommittee hearings! I also enjoyed Booknotes. Why go to a bookstore (this was before Amazon) and pay $29.95 when you can spend half an hour and 'read' the book from the author himself.I actually know people who watch C-SPAN. Frankly, I can't.

I don't even know if they hold any committee or subcommittee hearings anymore. All government action seems to flow from Presidential Executive Orders that are read by a servant in the style of a medieval Royal Decree. The Cabinet meetings look like something transported from Pyongyang and converted by AI into English (and White faces). There was more civility in Congress 30 years ago.
Now, the majority of them degrade the dignity of the seats they hold.
