It is not the first time security forces kills civilians. They killed a lot of civilians during the green movement. None of these were armed. But it is different now with social media being everywhere.

You cant indiscriminately kill thousands of civilians just because there are armed terrorists hiding amongst them.

If you mean that those who do not have machine guns are civilians, you are wrong.

These people had swords, knives, Molotov cocktails, stones, etc., and they worked in coordination with the armed mercenaries. In addition, I have not yet seen any evidence that the security forces opened fire without reason, which is what caused their high casualties.

No he doesn't. Ina federal system like US, the president has emergency power to declare war, if he chooses to do so.

He can, as long as he's willing to accept the risk of any fallout from the war, and the insurance for that risk is the congressional approval.

Besides they are more interested in an aerial campaign right now, both of which he can do easily without congress.

True, he would never put boots on the ground.....however, 60-90 days of anything still needs to be justified, as it was the case in Somalia, where Congress recalled the troops. With Iran, he has to make a case not only to Congress, but the American people that we need to get into another Middle East war.......in order for him to justify even a military operation he needs Iran to attack the US bases or soldiers. With out that, he can bomb targets from the air. The bigger issue is the entire congress is bought off by AIPAC so if he does bomb Iran, no one will hold him to account. Congress has many levers to pull in order to stop a military ops. They can vote to cutoff funding immediately, they can pass a resolution that can recall troops. etc. But unfortunately Iran has no friends in Congress.

GCC would like a regime change in Iran, but it's not something urgent for them, and they dont want the risks of Iran war.

Israel needs a Iran regime change since Oct 7, but they know it wont be a easy thing.

USA wants a complete Middle East and Eurasia destabilization, but started by Israel, they dont want to start it.

So follow USA path is the short path for Iran war.

The only who could stop war is GCC. Giving humanitarian help to Iran to avoid future protests: food, medicines and so on. And telling F-U-C-K OFF to USA.

Iranian protests were especially hard in the poorest neighborhoods.

If Iran gets money in negotiations, that it could be used for weapons and pay proxies, Israel will start the war.

The ship they are chasing is a corvette, its much smaller than Arleigh burke destroyers of US Navy. Most likely LCS of US Navy or otherwise could be corvette of any other gulf nation.

Thank you, my friend. I wanted to share my two cents about the current situation and leave again. As we have seen times and times again, the Islamic Republic and their supporters are immune to good advice and sanity.

I don't know. What do you think it means? Do you expect your enemy not to take advantage of your own stupidity? Didn't Iran try to make the most out of Black Lives Matter or recent protests in the US? The only difference is that the US and Israel have competent intelligence agencies with international reach and the Islamic Republic lacks such capability and has a loud mouth only.

There is no destruction of public buildings in Tehran except for anecdotal cases. Besides, destruction of public property is absolutely normal and very common in protests and riots around the world and does not justify killing thousands of people in 2 days. It was the norm in BLM protests that the Islamic Republic supported as well. It is the norm in basically every French riot in Paris.

Good for them. When the police kill teenagers with brutality, they deserve to be beaten to death.

Lurs and Arabs in Iran are armed. You probably have noticed how violent protests in Lur-majority cities were. They have been armed since the 1979 revolution because they never gave back their weapons. They even have a tradition of firing shots in their weddings. Kurds are armed too, with organized and trained separatists. So are Baluch people in Zahedan. The next step is that people will receive more arms. Most of them will be ethnic groups in Iran, not your average uptown dude or middle-class guy in Tehran. And then you will get a civil war with the backing of the US and Israel. If this is the path you have chosen, keep doing what you're doing and you will get there in no time.
