TF-X / KAAN / Hürjet Turkish Fighter & Trainer Aircrafts News & Discussions

Turkish Aerospace is TAI or TUSAS not TA.
They dropped the industries in all of the branding a while ago. The industries is only in some legal documents and associated things for which changing was inconvenient. For example this is the only place I could find the word industries after TA on the website:

Everywhere else it is JUST Turkish Aerospace - No Industries. I'm touchy about this because management themselves made a huge deal about this after us newbies kept calling it industries.

TUSAS is the Turkish acronym of course. But you knew all of that.

Only 3 Countries can produce them!

ASPILSAN Energy General Manager Prof. Dr. Ahmet Turan Özdemir:

As ASPILSAN Energy, we produce the battery for the KAAN Fighter Jet, one of Turkiye's signature projects.

There are only 3 countries in the world that can produce batteries at this level. And Türkiye is one of them

There are only three countries in the world capable of designing and manufacturing high-performance, mission-critical, aviation-grade lithium-ion battery systems, such as those for 5th-generation fighter jets, and Turkiye is one of them.

USA
China
Turkiye

Other candidates exist (European countries like France/UK/Saab, Russia), but they generally lag behind the US and China in independent production at this level (especially fully integrated, from cell to pack, for 5th generation fighter aircraft batteries) or are dependent on imports.

In short: Although the exact names haven't been officially announced, the context suggests the US, China, and Türkiye. This is a crucial achievement and source of pride for Türkiye in terms of independence in the defense industry!

P1!

3 KAAN WARPLANES WITH TURKISH PEOPLE SIDE BY SIDE!— The P1 and Full-Scale Static prototypes of KAAN were photographed side by side.— The design changes to the aircraft's nose, landing gear, and on the airfield are eye-catching:

Its Happening!

i only can see landing gearv modification and vertical stabilizer replacement , nose and intake same to me

This is true. There are many changes. The ducts will be different - although this is next to impossible to see from the outside. The control surfaces will be different kind of like this in red:

I suspect the LEF will be different too.
These are only the things I know - what else will be different who knows. We have to keep in mind the first prototype is a design that was frozen many years ago and the current Ka'an is very different from this.

Like @hyperman said, P0 (or P0* as it is now known), was never meant to fly. In fact, it needed some modifications to take it from P0 to P0* so that it was flight worthy. Since it was not planned as a flight test prototype, all the actual flight testing is going to begin with P1.

The tweet says P1 is going through system integration, wiring avionics and mission systems. Even P0 needed that (obviously). So I don't know what you mean by having too many variables in a single prototype.

P0* actually gave super valuable insights into the FLCS (among other things), which would normally have been corrected with P1, but those will be already fixed when P1 rolls out.

Also, there have been design changes to the Kaan, however, I am not sure which prototype will carry those. I suspect P1 will as P0 was a very early iteration of the Kaan.

That tfx model seen as mockup was just a conceptual design not to be taken seriously. The actual TFX looks like P0. P1 should have some visible changes that I'm looking forward to - nothing major but not insignificant - ailerons.

It's almost like...I knew..for sure..lol..I wonder why
