One question I had for a long time, that during May escalation India on first strike use its Air force, than many of their planes got shot down, then for next few days they use Brahmos and Kamikaze drones/Loitering munitions, then Pakistan BuM came in and shortly after that cease-fire, now my question is what would've India done if the cease-fire didn't happen? which new system or means of strike they could've used against Pakistan? Pakistan used its Air force for mostly shooting down IAF escaping jets, later we fire Fateh 1s and SH-15's Arty, we still have some options like using Babur/Ra'ad to hit few targets but I am curious what would Indians next step if Cease-fire didn't happen? Would there be a full on Land invasion in parts of AJK and Punjab or just keep the Brahmos/Drone strikes?

But as their own leaders have highlighted that Pakistan was constantly monitoring every one of these assets and basically “negotiating” the escalation live with them to ensure some of these assets don’t come online otherwise Pakistan’s response to these assets will come through.

There are mechanisms in the Indian Pakistani conflict which are unique compared to Ukraine /Russia , NK vs SK that have a lot more “Please don’t cross this line” backchannel communications involved.

The IFS/ IA and Pakistani side have set up these channels over decades which the nutjobs in BJP regime have been dismantling in their religious extremist bravado - mechanisms that are designed to prevent the unthinkable.

Wonder if those arrangements include things like do not cross the LOC, or move strategic weapons to forward bases? I was curious that people were posting that we are pounding Indian posts on LOC to a point of them raising white flags so what stopped Pakistan pushing into the J&K to capture some of the posts? we tried that in Kargil, the May conflict at least we have all tri-services taking part in the conflict unlike Kargil when half of the services didn't even know about the operation.

I thought Brahmos is their ACE card, which they used very early in the conflict, I thought the next moved would've been signaling the movement from their Strategic command aka Nuclear weapons, which Pakistan may/may not have picked up to follow up and inform the Americans that " Hey, they are moving some seriously dangerous weapons, so are we, what do you wanna do now" ?

There are no “arrangements” - just gentlemen’s protocols established over time.
Every new “face” of leadership can continue or trash them if they wish to because at the end they are no more than paperless “belief” that the other person will honor their word or handshake

In a full scale war both sides will target each other air bases first. Pakistan will saturate Indian AD with old ballistic missiles and then launch cruise missiles hypersonic like DF series will be used against critical infrastructure.

You need to understand that losing your front line aircrafts without inflicting any losses on your opponent is a huge embarrassment for any nation that boosts about being next super power thus inorder to compensate for the air losses they resorted to cruise missile strikes. As long as Pakistani rockets were falling inside Indian territory it means their AD failed to intercept them. If you google Pakistani rockets missiles debris in India, 90% of images are their own SAM missiles which exploded mid air but missed the target "Fatah 1 and 2".

Fatah did their job quite well. They were tasked to hit certain area, some were deliberately made to land near the intended target which was part of descalation plan. If we didnt see any smoke coming out od India then it would have definitely meant that Fatah failed.

I want to mention one or two things here
- After Kargil LOC is now a "Defacto Boarder" in political sense not in legal sense.
You can see this understand hinted number of time by the officials and non-officials from both side.

- Bhramous is not the the main weapon or silver bullet it is the weapon which provides them a convenience of use as it is still considered as non- nuclear missiles therefore provides India the only non-nuclear option in her missile arsenal which India could use in situations like May-2025 without crossing the nuclear threshold.

- India and Pakistan both have a communication channels including track 2 non-official channels (but supported by official circles from both sides).

- latest development is that India is now considering to integrate its nuclear warheads with their missiles in ready to use conditions (much of the details are not available, In my personal opinion think it would be for their second strike capabilities from nuclear submarines), which is an destabilizing factor in India-Pakistan scenario as it may escalate the matter to certain red lines as it may creat a use it or lose it scenario for Pakistan.

Also keeping Indian knick for unilateral escalation in mind during the certain "political periods and requirements" it creates a possibility of first use of nuclear weapons by India than Pakistan.
